10 Shocking Stories the Media Buried This Week #10 – UK government BUSTED in a secret plot to extract personal data from 2 billion iPhone users. They were this close to your “encrypted” data. This story begins when the UK govt hit Apple with a secret gag order, forcing them to either backdoor encrypted data for billions of users or face criminal charges if they refused to comply. Apple couldn’t even talk about it. The order demanded Apple create a vulnerability in its iCloud encryption, which would have given the UK government a back door to financial information, health records, and private conversations—not just of UK citizens but of two billion iPhone users worldwide. Remember, the UK government has already tried to threaten and extradite individuals outside the UK for violating British censorship laws—including US citizens over their online posts. So what happens when governments push to punish you not just for what you say publicly but for what you say privately? Rather than handing over the data of 2 billion iPhone users to the UK government, Apple chose to pull its Advanced Data Protection (ADP) in the UK—removing the option for UK users to enable encryption. Existing UK users must now disable encryption, and new users won’t have the option at all. US citizens and people in other countries remain unaffected by the UK government’s dystopian push to surveil and censor speech—for now. The UK government was this close to surveilling you, too—but luckily, Sayer Ji, Elon Musk, and The Wall Street Journal exposed this privacy nightmare. In another disturbing development, Imran Ahmed of the CCDH—one of the leading architects of the UK’s war on speech—is being awarded for his Orwellian efforts with a $300,000 prize this May. Sayer Ji has put together a petition to oppose this absurd aggrandizement of someone who has worked tirelessly to annihilate personal freedoms and silence dissenting voices. You can sign that petition here: (See 9 More Revealing Stories Below)

New mass surveillance system introduced in America “If you thought flock cameras are bad, law enforcement now has a system that identifies you based on the signals coming off of every single device you have” “It collects your Bluetooth, your Wi-Fi, your RFID signals from your phone, your smartwatch, your headphones, your car, your car's radio, absolutely everything. Then it builds what they call an electronic fingerprint, and their website gives an example of this. So picture 70 cars drive by one of these systems. Every car has an iPhone, but not every car has the same iPhone model, same smartwatch that's on you, same headphones, same everything else. So they build a profile based on you, not just your car's license plate anymore. So that combination is unique to you. They don't just need your license plate anymore. They don't even need a picture of your face. They just need the signals that your devices are already broadcasting. Can work in malls, subways, any public place, pretty much anywhere this can work. And then all of that information is gonna get stored on a server where it could be searched for later.” This isn't some random theory, it's real and I researched the details It’s called SignalTrace, its commercially available law enforcement tool. It extends beyond traditional Automatic License Plate Recognition by capturing publicly broadcast radio signals from everyday devices Signals Captured: Bluetooth from phones, watches, headphones, car systems, Wi-Fi, RFID like tags, key fobs, luggage and other local device emissions It creates a Electronic Fingerprint unique profile by correlating multiple device signals that travel together with a vehicle and person. This includes your specific iPhone model + smartwatch + car infotainment + headphones This is a massive mass surveillance tool tracking profiles without needing faces, plates, or warrants in many cases. Networks of these sensors could map movements across cities It builds persistent tracking profiles without needing faces, plates or warrants. Networks of these sensors could map movements across cities We have to stop this type of technology for being normalized. This is unlawful surveillance without a warrant

New mass surveillance technology is being deployed in America, it will track Americans via Bluetooth connection from their devices If “you thought Flock was bad, something even more terrifying is being installed all over America. It's made by a defense contractor called Leonardo, and here's what it does” So the biggest problem with these LPRs, license plate readers like Flock, is that it needs to use a license plate to identify you This company has found a way around that They've made a device that can be installed next to any existing license plate reader that once it's installed, that next time they pull your license plate, it will pull all the unique Bluetooth identifiers from all the smart devices in your car. But it doesn’t stop there, it gets worse Once they have those devices, they link them to you via your license plate, and now they never need to scan your license plate again. These new sensors can be installed anywhere, and they can even see who's traveling with you It’s made by Leonardo DRS, they are a defense and technology company that works with U.S. military, law enforcement and intelligence agencies These devices are reportedly being deployed or tested in various US cities alongside existing LPR networks It’s called SignalTrace and it can be easily added onto any existing camera of their or Flock It’s described as “An advanced intelligence system that upgrades standard license plate readers to track people by their smart devices they carry, rather than just by their vehicles This is insane and should be federally banned. This is the surveillance state

If there’s one lesson people are beginning to realize about modern technology, it’s this: The devices we rely on every day aren’t just tools. They’re surveillance systems. 👉 Learn more: Your phone tracks your location. Your apps collect your behavior. And now, AI integrated directly into your computer can record what you do on your screen every few seconds. Your emails. Your messages. Your searches. Even things you type but never send. That isn’t speculation. It’s the direction Big Tech has already taken. And the uncomfortable truth is that the people building these systems know exactly how powerful they are. Many of the same tech leaders who sell these devices to billions of users take extraordinary precautions with their own technology, covering cameras and limiting the very tools they encourage everyone else to use. Because data is power. And the more data that flows through these systems, the more influence the companies behind them gain over the digital world we all live in. But the playing field doesn’t have to stay that way. On Thursday, privacy experts Glenn and Eric Meder are hosting a free Privacy Academy webinar explaining exactly how these systems work and what people can do about them. During the training, they walk through how modern operating systems collect and analyze your behavior, how AI tools can build detailed behavioral profiles, and why many of the privacy settings people rely on don’t actually stop data collection. More importantly, they explain a practical alternative. Instead of relying on software designed around data collection, they show how privacy-focused systems like Linux can give users far more control over their own computers. And they break it down step by step so everyday people—not just programmers or tech experts—can understand how to make the transition. Because once you understand how these systems work, protecting your privacy becomes far easier than most people think. The free webinar is happening Thursday, March 5 at 7 PM Central, and it’s open to anyone who wants to understand how Big Tech is gathering data—and how to stop it. 👉 Register here: You can’t control the direction the tech industry chooses to take. But you can control how much access those systems have to your life. We want to thank Privacy Academy for helping everyday people understand how the digital world really works and for being a proud sponsor of this program. If you’re interested in learning more, visit do your own research, and decide if the training is right for you. Because when it comes to privacy, the most important step is understanding the system you’re living inside.

Possibly the biggest change in Microsoft Teams history? Teams without the Teams? Public preview in November to desktop, mobile, iOS, and Android. Here is what you need to know: 🟣 Microsoft is introducing a new combined chat and channels experience. Meaning chat and teams/channels will show up under the "Chat" sidebar icon. No more dedicated Teams sidebar button. 🟣 Teams and Channels will have their own section in chat. 🟣 Group your chats and/or channels however best works for you with favourites and custom sections (up to 50 sections and 50 items per section) 🟣 “Unread,” “Chat,” “Channels,” “Meetings,” and “Muted” Filters 🟣 New message can initiate a new chat or new channel post 🟣 New Mention view gathers all your mentions into a single interactive list. 🟣 At launch, a self-service, guided onboarding will help users discover the new experience and configure it to their preferences (on or off) 🟣 Users who prefer to keep chat and channels separate can easily do so during the onboarding process or at any time later. So far, it looks like there are no IT/tenant-level override controls. This experience change is targeted at getting more users using teams/channels. Most Teams users live in "chats", not teams/channels. There will undoubtedly be some pushback from users who use teams/channels well and like having the mental separation of teams/channels vs chats. I've been fortunate to be using it for a while, and I'm personally a big fan; my use of the correct channels has gone way up, and now I can find them all in one place in the app, particularly on mobile. I'm now much more likely to see channel conversations I need to see. What do you think? #MicrosoftTeams #Microsoft365

I'm excited to announce Universal, and our $9M round led by a16z crypto. Universal fundamentally improves how assets move and trade onchain. You can now trade spot assets like SUI, DOGE, and XRP directly on your preferred chain without bridges or centralized exchanges. The problem is simple: crypto is fragmented. So many chains, so many assets. If you're trading on Base but want exposure to something like SOL, DOGE, or XRP, you have to bridge or find your way back to a CEX. This creates unnecessary friction for users and severely limits which assets developers can use. Universal solves this with uAssets - wrapped tokens that are backed 1:1 by verifiable reserves held in Coinbase Prime. Each uAsset can be natively minted and redeemed on-demand across any supported chain. Since going live, uAssets have already seen over $850M in trading volume. Traders: this means you can finally trade 80+ new assets without leaving your preferred chain. No bridges, no CEXs, no fragmented liquidity. Plus, you can put your uAssets to work in DeFi. Provide liquidity on Aerodrome, lend on Morpho Labs, and much more. Builders: You can now integrate those 80+ assets that were previously unavailable on your chain in a few lines of code through our Universal Relayer API. We’re actively working on dozens of new integrations. Reach out. As of today, we support Base, Polygon, and Arbitrum, with Solana, World, Monad and many more coming soon. Try Universal now at or build with us at

Right now our experience of the internet is in jeopardy. More than half of our interactions online and onchain come from non-human actors who are not identifiable, not accountable, not verifiable. That means as we look toward a stablecoin payment and AI agent enabled future, how are we going to facilitate payments if we don't know who we're paying? How will applications, display advertising, recommendations work if the counterparty who's interacting with those interfaces and in those digital spaces can’t identify itself as agent or human, or specific human? Or for things like onchain incentives, how can we ensure that tokens and value are arriving at the right users if we cannot tell Sybil accounts and redundant addresses from unique human beings? So for all of these use cases and more, things that touch enterprise and government as well, which we can get into later, we have a very glaring need to bring a layer of identity and trust to the internet that was originally built as a system, a network to communicate amongst computers, but lacked an identity system to acknowledge their users. That's the problem that we are solving with Billions Network. How can we make it really easy for you and the agents who serve you to prove who you are, your traits and capabilities and qualifications, in any space, physical or digital? What that means is that today Billions Network is the first universal human and AI network built with mobile first verification, so you can prove who you are and your agents can prove who they are, starting with comfortable experiences on the devices you already own. So no proprietary hardware. We do not rely on centralized servers to collect user data. Rather, your information, the sensitive data that makes you you, stays securely on your device. And we use zero knowledge proofs as a way to prove traits about you, such as the fact that you're over the age of 21, without revealing that sensitive personal data, such as what your exact birth date is. 🚨 THEY FOUND A LEGAL WAY TO SPY ON EVERY AMERICAN — AND THE 4TH AMENDMENT CAN'T STOP IT Most Americans believe the government needs a warrant to monitor them, track them, or collect detailed information about their private lives. But unfortunately, they found a loophole. The government may not be allowed to directly collect certain information on Americans, but private companies collect enormous amounts of it every single day through smartphones, apps, websites, search engines, location services, online purchases, and countless other digital tools most people use without a second thought. That means your location history, browsing habits, purchases, interests, movements, and daily routines are already being recorded, stored, and traded by an entire industry that most Americans have never even heard of. The loophole is that while the government may not be allowed to collect certain information directly without a warrant, it can reportedly purchase data that private companies have already collected. The information may be gathered by private companies. The data may be sold by data brokers. And the government may still end up with access to it. For years, there was one major limitation. There was simply too much data. Even if someone wanted to analyze billions of data points across millions of people, it would have required an impossible number of human analysts. Then AI arrived. Suddenly, information that would have taken years to organize can be processed, searched, categorized, connected, and analyzed in a fraction of the time. People are warning that the combination of artificial intelligence and the data broker loophole could fundamentally change what surveillance looks like in America. For the first time in history, technology may finally exist that can sift through enormous amounts of personal information at a scale that was previously impossible. The question isn't whether the data exists. The question is who has access to it. Because once your location, habits, purchases, interests, relationships, and daily routines can all be analyzed by machines, the line between convenience and surveillance starts getting harder to see. The most alarming part? Most Americans have no idea this conversation is even happening. Do you trust the government with more information about your life than your own family knows?

DeepSeek-R1 shattered the assumption that performant AI models must be built closed source with loss-leading computational costs. This is the reality that Web3 x Crypto firms have been waiting for, leading me to believe that the most performant AI models in the future will be built on-chain. Resource Requirements DeepSeek R1 (671 billion parameters), which took over a billion dollars, 2,000 Nvidia H800 GPUs, and over 55 days, beat benchmarks held by OpenAI’s o1 mode (near 2 trillion parameters)l, which required hundreds of billions of dollars to develop along with over 16,000 advanced GPUs. The idea that AI models must be closed-source and have loss-leading computational costs to succeed is crumbling. The Existing Decentralized AI Narrative AI x Crypto projects believed that crowdsourced, public, decentralized AI would eventually create better models than their centralized counterparts. This had thus far not been true, as the highest-performing models had come from closed-source companies like OpenAI and Anthropic. Crypto x AI companies have adapted to this by specializing in infrastructure rather than model-building. For example, GPU marketplaces like , The Render Network, io.net, and Exabits have developed sustainable revenues. Companies that allow users to share their network bandwidth like touch grass and Gradient have found their niche in supplying services, like distributed web scraping, to web2 clients. Storage networks like Arweave Ecosystem, Filecoin, and Ocean Protocol have also done well by being the platform on which these projects are built. Supply networks have flourished because of their ability to tailor their cheaper and more scalable services to off-chain customers. Renewed Focus Now that GPU and financial resources are no longer limitations to creating quality AI models, web3 AI companies can focus on replicating DeepSeek’s effectiveness while offering new benefits like modality, user ownership, censorship resistance, privacy, and more. Pantera Capital has funded companies in this space like and Sentient that believe they can match or exceed the performance of traditional AI companies while offering additional services or benefits. , for example, is building a platform where anyone can monetize AI models, data sets, and applications in a collaborative space. Users can permissionlessly train models manually, provide training data, and create tailored AI models with no-code tools. They are only able to cater to all these stakeholders (AI developers, users, resource providers) because everything is tied to their native Sahara blockchain. We invested in them precisely for this reason. The Future of AI will be built with Web3 Infrastructure I believe that supply-side projects will continue to grow, while consumer-facing projects can begin competing with web2 competitors by taking advantage of their ability to build networks that invite community involvement. and Sentient, for example, have begun setting up systems for users to train models based on the users’ expertise. These platforms will allow users to pick and choose the data and integrations to whatever they are applying the model towards. Sahara already has over 780,000 users on their waitlist while Sentient has over 1 million interactions. In the near future, I believe that the most performant AI models will be built on-chain. 🚨💊GAVIN NEWSOM'S California is drowning in SYNTHETIC 7OH - a new street drug that is horrific beyond human comprehension. Reports say that after taking high doses of synthetic 7-hydroxymitragynine that it can trigger catastrophic organ failure. Starting with your liver turning into a toxic sludge factory. Your kidneys can shut down, filling your blood with waste products that poison every cell in your body. The respiratory depression gets so severe that you're gasping for air like a fish out of water, your lips turning blue as your brain slowly suffocates. The addiction itself rewires your brain so profoundly that without the substance, you experience bone-deep pain that feels like your skeleton is trying to claw its way out of your body. Seizures can strike without warning - your muscles contracting so violently they can snap bones and tear ligaments. Some users also report hallucinations of insects crawling under their skin, leading them to scratch until they create deep, infected wounds. The cardiovascular effects include irregular heartbeats that feel like your chest is being crushed by a vice, potentially triggering a heart attack. Your digestive system essentially shuts down - severe constipation so extreme that fecal matter backs up, causing toxic megacolon where your intestines can literally rupture and spill waste into your abdominal cavity. Long-term use also can destroy your testosterone production, causing severe hair loss, and triggering a condition called cholestatic jaundice where your skin and eyes turn yellow as bile backs up in your system. The withdrawal is so severe that users describe feeling like their blood has been replaced with battery acid, with uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea that can lead to fatal dehydration within days. The synthetic versions are particularly dangerous because the dosing is completely unpredictable - what might be fine in one batch could be lethal in the next, turning users into unwitting guinea pigs for untested chemical compounds. Tag Secretary Kennedy to ban SYNTHETIC 7OH!
