Iran has 20 MIG29, and 20 Mirage F1, they are good planes, they still have some F14, SU-25, and their own F5 copy, in total about 130 Jets.. thats not so bad, propaganda that spreads "they have nothing" seems to be quite effective..

Iran has downed exactly ONE helicopter with a drone. During a night time escort mission in the Straits a drone collided with an Apache. The 2-man crew never knew it was in the area until it hit and their helicopter dropped into the ocean with the drone actually stuck in the cockpit canopy. I am puzzled how that could happen as the Apache has drone detection sensors and is very quick. If they had seen it they should have been able to dodge the drone or even shoot it down with their nose gun. Drones only fly at 115 MPH and usually below 500 meters.

In response, F 35s operating from the carrier and escort ships equipped with layered air defense systems would engage the drones using a mix of missiles and close in weapons.
