Record snowfall in Kamchatka, Russia. Winds piled snow up to the fourth floor of buildings, and people are stranded in cities. This is one of the extremes that occur during geomagnetic excursions and abrupt climate change: severe droughts in some regions, intense rainfall and storms in others, extreme snowfall, short-term warming, followed by the collapse of ocean currents, cooling in the Northern Hemisphere, and ultimately systemic collapse. Since James Hansen said that humanity faces the equivalent of a direct impact by a giant asteroid in his 2012 TED talk, look at the graph to see what has happened to atmospheric CO2. 30.5 parts per million (240 billion tonnes) of carbon dioxide has been added to the atmosphere in just those 13 years, plus vast amounts of other greenhouse gases. For context, 100 ppm of CO2-equivalent caused around 7°C, possibly 8°C, of global warming during the last deglaciation.

This means Sea Surface Temps reached a certain level above normal, and the ocean and atmosphere “coupled” meaning they are now working in tandem to produce impacts.
