Iroh sings Leaves from the Vine

To this day…

who do these vocals remind you of?

Iroh spent his son's birthday helping other children and citizens of the city he once tried to seize. He is seen as a face of positivity and wisdom throughout the show. Seeing him here vulnerable and sad is heartbreaking.

Dis still remains one of the most respected scenes in this series, the sunset makes everything beautiful.

After this episode Zuko's betrayal hits harder

“ little soldier boy “ “Comes marching home”

It’s even more heart breaking knowing Mako was at the verge of death from throat cancer. I felt really sad rewatching this scene last year… This world indeed isn’t a happy and jolly place to be.

This scene was also a sad one, for it was also the last time we'd hear Mako's voice as Iroh. R.I.P. to Mako, the legendary japanese actor from the 80's.

If only I could have helped you.

When I was a lot younger when I first saw this. I didn’t really think much of it. But after rewatching the series in high school this scene hit me so much harder. Rest in peace Mako.

It doesn't matter how many times I rewatch the series, the tales of Iroh always break me...
