Guys movie

My favorite part of this video is trying to figure out why Saving Private Ryan is a drama but the Thin Red Line is a war movie

My favorite film genre: Foreign

Bug movie, a bug’s life. Woody Allen movie, Antz.

giving strong "i was a teenager so this was an important year" energy

Sorry but 1999 wins every time

From what I gather of this podcast through the clips I’ve seen is they pick a year and state the good movies to come from it and that’s about it

kinda a terrible choice for iconic movies honestly because its cleared by both 1997 (Titanic, Boogie Nights, Good Will Hunting, Perfect Blue) and 1999 (Fight Club, Audition, The Matrix, Eyes Wide Shut)

True Enlightenment is knowing this guy is right but not for the reason he thinks. 1998 is the year Dark City came out, case closed

A lot of these movies aren't that good. Black rom com? Who cares? Parent Trap? Patch Adams? Can't Hardly Wait? 1999 was way better. Fight Club. Matrix. American Beauty. Office Space. Eyes Wide Shut. Magnolia. Being John Malkovich. American Pie. Sixth Sense. Any Given Sunday.

He has a perfect brain

"Foreign: Life is Beautiful" ijbol Bill Simmons is such a fucking fraud man

It’s good indeed, but for me, my personal favorite year was 1994: The Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction and The Lion King (if you were a kid in the 90’, you know what that movie represent for animations…)

Damn, no love for Dirty Work

Off by a year 1999! American Beauty, Eyes Wide Shut, Fight Club, Office Space, Austin Powers, Run Lola Run, Being John Malkovich, Election, The Matrix, Wag The Dog, Three Kings, Any Given Sunday, The Blair Witch Project, Notting Hill, Green Mile, South Park film, Toy Story!

How about a movie about women?

1994 is the greatest year ever

You could literally do this with any year

i appreciate the your friends and neighbors shoutout if nothing else.

It certainly had some of the shttiest hit films of all time. I remember even as a kid thinking that movies were getting dumber, what with Armageddon and Godzilla. Godzilla in particular had a ton of hype and the disappointment around it heavily defined the year.

1994 Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber, The Professional, The Crow, Interview with a Vampire, Natural Born Killers, Reality Bites, Shallow Grave, The Mask, The Ref, Four Weddings and a Funeral, New Nightmare, Above the Rim

H20 mentioned, hell yeah!

1998 was a good film year but the 90s were stacked. 1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, & 1999 were all top tier movie years.

My parents named me after the main character of Can’t Hardly Wait

Lmao he's trying to sound so thoughtful and profound. He looked at the movies that came out and tried to come up with different genres for them. "Oh perfect that can be the Beloved Movie Nerd Movie Genre!"

"foreign movie" is incredible like there aren't good movies made every year in the entire rest of the world

John Ford’s three releases in 1939 are better than all the American releases in 1998 put together

He should look up 1994.

98' was the year I bought my first DVD player and got 500 lines of movie resolution. Didn't think it could get any better. 😂

Black rom com lmfao?

@NYorNothing good call?

the one foreign film he names wasn’t even released that year omg

He forgot to also mention in that year came out Water Boy, Meet Joe Black, Wild Things, Rush Hour and The Negotiator.

2003 had LOTR: Return of the King, The Last Samurai Secondhand Lions. Italian Job, Holes, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Matrix Revolutions, Shanghai Knights, Bulletproof Monk and the Room.

Sorry… but 1985 was peak cinema for me…
