My dad and I regularly build furniture (not assemble from Ikea: BUILD!) and we have NEVER broken a “regular” hammer. Why on earth would I need a stronger (and I bet far more expensive) hammer???? Oh, I get it: this is for show-offs who will never really use it.

No it’s just marketing and leaning into gadgets/asmr. A quality hammer with dampening and a good grip is definitely worth it though. Bought one probably 16 years back when I was an apprentice that’s still going strong.

There is a gotcha culture clip going around trying to compare my using a hammer to any normal human male using a hammer. I want to make something very clear. Im beyond ecstatic that most men can use a hammer. I’d much rather have a strong male figure around than not. Do I think hammers are tough to use? Yes I do. As an unbiased hammer analyst I need to ask the tough questions though. Like does not being able to use a hammer directly correspond to being more female than male?
