Sorry to break it to you, but if you think AI can automate all your marketing, you’re probably going to be disappointed. Yes, AI can write your posts. It can create images. It can analyze data. It can even help you build campaigns faster. But faster does not always mean better. AI still needs someone to tell it what matters. It needs someone to understand the customer, choose the right message, and decide what is actually worth creating. Because your goal is not to produce more content. Your goal is to become more visible. You need to know where people are discovering your brand. Are you showing up on Google? Are you being mentioned by ChatGPT and other AI platforms? Are your competitors showing up more often than you? That is where AI becomes useful. Not when it replaces your marketing, but when it helps you see what you could not see before. With you can track your share of visibility across search and AI platforms. You can see where your brand appears, where your competitors are winning, and which topics could help you get mentioned more often. So do not use AI to put your marketing on autopilot. I'm up late with the rest of you building AI agents with the new AI browser from Genspark. We can see where this is all going: a new kind of operating system -- one that is very different than the Microsoft centric way that I've been working for 20 years. There are several things that these new agentic browsers bring to you: 1. They let you change how you browse. With an old browser like Google Chrome, you go to your email, Facebook, or X. 2. With these new browsers, you tell it where to go and what to do for you. 3. It can even build software for you. At the end of this video, I have it building me a little YouTube uploading utility, which is very helpful. 4. They have a ton of "applications" built in. Think of it as a new kind of office suite. Docs. Spreadsheets. Slide decks. And much more. All built with AI, not bolted on the side like with Microsoft's Office. 5. They have AI models built "underneath" so you can work privately and cheaply. There’s a lot of new choices you have to make with browsers like this. I’ve been playing with a bunch of them. Some have better user interfaces than others. Some have different versions, slide components, or applications. The reason I like Genspark is because they ship so fast. I’ve been watching this company since its very beginnings, and every week they ship new things. Just yesterday, they shipped a new photo editing feature for my iPhone. I upload a photo and then I can just talk to it and edit it with my voice. It's really cool. I try to reward companies that ship at such a fast rate and that are shipping innovation that improves our lives. It's not that I'm going to stop using Google Chrome. My whole life has been there for, I don't know, almost 20 years now. This is a different way of working and it gives me a space to run my AI tasks that's different than Google Chrome. I run them side by side. One doing old stuff, one doing new stuff. I can keep using Google Chrome for my old stuff, like my email and my calendar. And I use GenSpark or one of the new AI browsers to do new AI-centric things. All sorts of new things that these new agentic browsers open up! Have you tried it, or one of the other new ones yet? How has it changed your work? It takes a little time to get used to AI-centric ways of doing things. Pretend your browser is a team of interns. Give them a task, in this case I said "help me upload my videos to YouTube." You might be shocked at what Genspark does to improve your life. I am everytime I use it. Went to a new kind of movie today. One that cost $400,000 in AI compute to make. It was the San Francisco premiere. If you hadn’t told me it was largely done with AI I wouldn’t have known. The takeaway after listening to Higgsfield AI 🧩’s CTO introduce it is that a competent movie can now be made for half a million dollars. Where they used to cost $100 million or more. Here is the first few minutes of “Hell Grind” and that intro from Yerzat Dulat. We are far from seeing the ultimate use of AI in movies. As a touch point of where AI for creative people is this seems like an important time marker and one I will look back on frequently for years.

This is very true. AI integration is both hard and necessary for companies. And AI-native junior employees can drive this adoption. Earlier this year Aaron Levie explained with martin_casado on the a16z podcast how AI fluency is one of the most powerful skills a new grad can have. The real value comes from knowing how to make AI work inside an organization. Most companies, both large and small, are slow to adopt new technology. They need people who can explain what AI can do, show them how to use it, and help them move faster. If you are fluent in AI, you can be that person. You can walk into a company, spot the areas where AI can save time or create new opportunities, and make it happen. That is a wedge into your first job and a way to stand out from everyone else.

And this is the slowest it will ever move again. It's about to run on its own, faster than we can conceive of, and nobody's prepared for that. Wonderful conversation as ever with Emad.

Possibly the biggest change in Microsoft Teams history? Teams without the Teams? Public preview in November to desktop, mobile, iOS, and Android. Here is what you need to know: 🟣 Microsoft is introducing a new combined chat and channels experience. Meaning chat and teams/channels will show up under the "Chat" sidebar icon. No more dedicated Teams sidebar button. 🟣 Teams and Channels will have their own section in chat. 🟣 Group your chats and/or channels however best works for you with favourites and custom sections (up to 50 sections and 50 items per section) 🟣 “Unread,” “Chat,” “Channels,” “Meetings,” and “Muted” Filters 🟣 New message can initiate a new chat or new channel post 🟣 New Mention view gathers all your mentions into a single interactive list. 🟣 At launch, a self-service, guided onboarding will help users discover the new experience and configure it to their preferences (on or off) 🟣 Users who prefer to keep chat and channels separate can easily do so during the onboarding process or at any time later. So far, it looks like there are no IT/tenant-level override controls. This experience change is targeted at getting more users using teams/channels. Custom Agents become generally available today. What we learned in the alpha: - Over a million custom agents went live! The use cases are SO broad. Seeing what people do with them is easily my favorite part of the job. - Agents are not just for engineers! People from every function are now building their own factories. (watch this space at Developer day next week!) - The combination of custom agents with Notion Workers is basically magic! What you can automate is now limited by your own imagination. - Control matters! Context, permissions, and cost came up a lot, and we shipped major improvements within the alpha. - On cost, people love the ability to experiment with different models, and swap out more expensive models with open-weight ones, where it makes sense. - Usage-based pricing is new for Notion, but becoming the standard for AI. It fits the idea of intelligence as a service. Really grateful for all the feedback. It directly shaped what we shipped. Keep it coming, my DMs are open.
