Is Bam Adebayo an overrated Rim Protector?😬

Watching games is important. YOU CANT BE AN ELITE RIM PROTECTOR IF YOUR NEVER BY THE RIM! He spends most of his time on the perimeter. That's why on off is not a good indicator of what is actually happening. You can't be a league leader in perimeter switches and rim protection.

Logic is flawed because you can’t be a good rim protector if you have to guard out on the perimeter way more than other centers

Bam Adebayo is a better defender against NBA 1st Unit point guards than he is against 6’11 Centers.

This would be true if he was a anchor big but hes not hes a mobile big so he switches everything meaning if he is switched on to a good shooter he can’t leave his man to protect the rim

When everyone else except 1 or 2 guys is a cone and the teams out you in action to get your best defender away from the action it’s easy to see how the metrics could tell that story, but there’s a video on YOUTUBE explaining why that is. Davion even mentioned this recently

Bam was probably in the most 2 v 1 situations in the league the last 2-3 years. Tyler Herro was guarding Jaylen Brown in May. Watch the games, not the numbers. Especially when it comes to defense.
