Is Being a Stay-at-Home Mom Really a Full-Time Job?

Woman who is not married and has no kids lectures other about how easy life as a stay at home mum is. It's not that hard but she doesn't know that for sure because she's not done it

I stayed home for 4 months with leave from work for a baby and a 5 year old and it was the easiest shit I’ve ever had to do. I cooked every meal cleaned the house took daughter to school and picked he up while dealing with a baby and killed it. Laundry was done house was clean kids were fed an oh wait had time to do other shit for myself at same time. I would die to be a stay at home parent. Way fucking easier than going to work all day.

If done completely, its an immesely full time job. Mothers who actually take care of their families, will go above an beyond. the mothers complaining about their husbands, are usually the ones who you see on tik tok, and those are failing their families. big difference

First of all let’s not lump all women in one category! I bake everything from scratch and home school my children! Tf I can’t stand seeing shite like this! Byeeeeeeeee she’s miserable in her own life and is clearly projecting. I wouldn’t have this life any other way!!! Tf is wrong with her. Because she can’t bag a man everyone else must be as miserable as her lolol nope not it I have an air fryer but rarely use it. Why when I can make delicious home cooked meals from scratch! Yes we are homeschooling, yes we do make food from scratch, we do laundry, we clean, we dont all have just 1 or 2 kids. We make all of the appointments, we run errands with the kids tagging along. She’s 1000% wrong.

Being a mum is MORE than a 60 hour a week job. Make the list, add it all up, and learn to count.

For me it was. Three kids and a husband that traveled weekly. Once the kids were in school, it was homework, school projects, being on the PTA, band booster, band trips, soccer practice/games, basketball practice/games. Chaperoning school trips, etc., etc., etc.. Plus, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and house maintenance projects so my husband didn't have to deal with any of that after traveling and working hard all week. Now before the crazies come for me, he coached the kid's soccer teams and was present for everything for the kids that he was able to be. I wasn't a slave to the "patriarchy". We decided together we didn't want a daycare raising our children. (I know for some it's not an option) We worked as a partnership and both had our roles. We've been together 38 years, married for 36.

Honestly men should just do everything. Us women are just so useless. 31 year old childless pearl is right. Give all the jobs and responsibilities to the men. Women should just lounge by a pool and drink a martini. We are just too incapable of anything else.

Common @pearlythingz W My wife and I have 3 kids, she is a homemaker, she does cook and bake from scratch, cleans, takes care of me and the kids and does 4-6 hours, 5 days a week homeschooling, if a homemaker isn't doing that, it's a part time job.

When they're under 2 it's WAY more than a full time job. When they go to school at 5 you have until 2:30 to get the constant laundry done, beds made, dog walked, vacuum, windows, grocery shopping, yard maintenance, empty household trash, dishes, dusting, filling soap dispensers, moping, cleaning toilets and mirrors, restocking toilet paper and the like, - leave to pick them up from school. Then comes bathing the children, feeding them and making sure they do their homework. I left out the periodic errands like car repairs and dr. appointments. Give stay at home Mom's some props please. It isn't easy and it's a very important job. I also home school my oldest and take him to multiple sports training appointments per week.

The amount of work being a stay-at-home mom is far greater than most people realize and is GREATLY underappreciated.

please someone make her take care of just 1 child for at least a week. then she can come back and be a bitch once again if she wants to. taking care of a baby is easy? even i dont have a child and i know how hard it actually is. people who agree with her are morons

She’s not a mother. She dowsnt have children. If you say “parenting is the EASIEST job ever!” You probably let your kids do whatever they want, don’t actually raise them, and you’re not doing your job 24/7 like you should. It’s the best most rewarding job on the planet

So this hoe doesn’t have any kids and she cooked temporarily for a family and says it’s easy. Take care of kids everyday for 18 years then have the conversation.

Being a stay at home mom is most definitely a full time job. This lady apparently doesn’t even have kids. The mental load of having multiple toddlers is what makes having kids a full time job. We don’t just “work” for 8 hours and poof the kids are gone

So glad this doesn’t apply to me. Me being a stay at home mom is a full time job for me. But I’m also not lazy. I cook and bake everything I can from scratch. I can as much of our own food as I can. And I’m homeschooling both my kids. And that’s a few things I do.

I'm a stay at home dad with 4 young kids. For several years I was able to work Youtube full-time, and raise the kids, but as we had more it got impossible. Being home with several kids is most definitely a full time job.

It’s not that simple. Someone needs to watch your kids, they have holidays, vacations, professional development days, summers off. No real job has the ability to just allow their employee off for 12 weeks in the summer. Need to be realistic when talking about the whole picture

If you want to know the truth, look no farther than the daytime television schedule of yesteryear before cable and streaming. If women were so busy they wouldn't have put soap operas on in the middle of the day to occupy them.

It's not. I cleaned a 2k sqft hom, vacuumed, swept, mopped, scrubbed 3 bathrooms, 3 loads of laundry, dishes, cooked dinner (steak n rice) and put the kid to bed in 2.5hrs. I timed myself to get it in 2 hrs (failed). It's only a full time job with 4kids under 5...

assumes kids are in public school. assumes only 1 or 3 kids. assumes theyre born relatively close together. assumes modern technology is better than from scratch. assumes men do a good job raising kids. there's a lot of assumptions going on here.

We need to stop framing the homemaker around it being a “job” of any kind. It’s a vocation. We don’t need the feminist jargon to explain the incredible importance of the homemaker to civilization. And fyi, women aren’t lazier, they just don’t have the testosterone of men.

Agree sorta, when they are babies, toddlers and elementary age it’s a full time job and it’s good to be present in those times if you can do it. As they get older and become more independent it’s not hard at all, that’s why I got a job lol.

Depends on the kid, depends on what age of life the kid is.. some kids are easey going , some kids are terrible. Some stages in the kids life are crazy. My kid was easey untill he turned 3 . From 3- 7 was hell. Then he was easey again..
