The false dichotomy here is that it's either all Jesus or all you. The beginning of the Christian journey is all grace. There's nothing you can do to earn it. But in the words of GK Chesterton , a dead thing can go along with a stream, only a living thing can swim against it. Or as God speaks Ezekiel , I will sprinkle you with water and make you clean , I will take your Heart of Stone and give you a heart of flesh. Or as Jesus puts it, he is the master who invests talents in his stewards, and if his stewards do nothing with those talents but bury them, even what they have is taken from them. You must work once Grace has been given to you. Salvation is not a one-time process , and you are believing something that is not even barely 500 years old as a Christian concept. It is not the belief of the original church and if you think that it's necessary for salvation then you think Jesus failed 1500 years of christians. Which is pathetic.
