Singapore has a significant contingent of Han Chinese people. ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns and runs TikTok, has an office in Singapore. The questions being asked are not remotely unreasonable.

I think I see what you're trying to imply here, but Senator Cotton isn't ignorant of geography, he's asking pointed questions about this Singaporean's affiliations. Do you realize someone can do the things he asked AND be Singaporean? Someone can have both Chinese AND Singaporean passports, be affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party, etc.
