Is Hollywood hating on Sinners?

Two respected and talented directors Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan both co-sign the cinematic greatness of Ryan Cooler’s work, at this point it’s just blatant racism!

Van, I really loved OBAA and I really wanted to like Sinners. It just wasn’t very good to me for a variety of reasons and none of those reasons are because I thought it was too black. Mostly, it’s fucking boring!

Sinners is my number 2 film of the year. I can understand people not liking it I guess, but this attempted erasure of the film by magazines and websites isn’t sitting right with me. However I don’t think the Academy will cut Sinners out. I hope I’m right.

Hollywood has accepted and appreciated #SinnersMovie , it was ONE publication company, @Variety , who intentionally left Sinners off their list to promote a FLOPPED movie that Sydney Sweeney is in. Variety has done this before with Sinners, only this time, BLATANTLY OBVIOUS !!

Sinners is still the number one movie of the year to me. There’s been some really good movies this year, but nothing will replicate that feeling of seeing Sinners on the big screen the first time.

The movie was mid... it's not brilliant. It had a great start but then turned into a mediocre vampire movie. Overrated is a word I used often to describe it. Variety might actually in the right this time.

Nominate sub categories for the movie, so optics make it seem less racist. On the low telling actors they won't win an award with a Black director who can own his own work. Ever since the box office BS started buzzing it seems to be about that.

The same people who are saying “The lists are not important” would be the same people losing their minds if OBAA wasn’t on these lists. No one has to like “Sinners”. But it’s very clear what’s going on.

Hollywood typically moves on from monster movies after they’re leave the mainstream zeitgeist. It’s still a great and important movie, but Hollywood typically doesn’t give monster movies love after people have moved on.

It's insane to me that Wunmi Mosaku is not getting any award love . She's amazing ,and as a person from the south I thought she was from here. Shouldn't be surprised though ,as a larger woman with darker skin cannot be celebrated.

SINNERS IS AN OVERBLOATED B-FILM WITH LIKE 4 EPILOGUES LMAO. This is simply a mid film! Coogler's production took itself WAY too seriously. The result is a cast reading "From D til D in the Jim Crow south" like its Hamlet. And the audience thinks its hamlet too lol

Yes! There hasn’t been a movie released this year with the critical AND audience acclaim as Sinners. Not saying it’s the best movie of the year, but it’s thee movie of the year, PERIOD. It deserves to sweep.

Van needs to understand the critics who made up this list the same aren't the same journalists at Variety reporting that it hasn't made the money back. Owen Gleiberman and Peter Debruge are real critics with bonifies that judge films on quality. It has nothing to do with race!
