Is it just me or does the Boston Dynamic robot look very clumsy compared to Tesla Optimus ? (And all programmed of course) Optimus is so much more refined and fluid. And the crazy thing is Tesla has been doing this for 2 years, and Boston Dynamics for 30... show more

You can only get so far with hydraulics. Boston Dynamics' Atlas was created with late 20th Century technology, and never saw a neural net. Tesla's Optimus is created to take advantage of state-of-the art servo technology and training of neural nets.

Absolutely! And it's funny to see the Boston Dynamic robot all of a sudden being more focused on grabbing things instead of parkour. 😅

Boston Dynamic is a science project company, no firm direction. It may have taken Tesla to light a fire over there.

Well that, and the first principle approach to figuring out how to implement the functionality.

Give him a chance. I’m already happy that they noticed that nobody gives a f**k about dancing but that they need to do real industrial jobs. My minimum requirement: „unload the boxes from this truck“.

The biggest advantage comes from the custom actuators, which you cannot find off the shelf ... 🧐

Boston Dynamics moves at SNAIL speed while Tesla moves at the speed of THOUGHT (as Sandy Munro said).

Tesla is a robotics company. It is a machine that builds machines. All of the work they’re doing on cars translates to the Optimus robot. And if there’s a shortlist of companies that will benefit from an intelligence explosion from AI? Tesla is on that list.

I spent 6 hours at Tesla Boston and spoke to well over 50 people. Most had never even heard of Optimus before, their minds were completely blown. Great work by Tesla getting Optimus in front of visitors from all over the world who are here for the Boston Marathon.

@jason to Elon regarding Tesla Optimus: "I saw a video and I said to him, is this CGI or is this real? And he said, no, this is real. They just sent it to me this morning. Optimus will be the best selling product."

Elon Musk calls Optimus the "most sophisitcated humanoid robot on earth". The Dawn Project attended Tesla's recent demonstration of Optimus serving popcorn. Tesla's event was totally staged and, after being asked directly, Tesla employees admitted Optimus was being teleoperated. The Tesla employees couldn't even tell us how many Optimus robots Tesla has, despite Elon claiming that there would be 10,000 by the end of this year. Tesla is going to need to employ a lot of teleoperators!

Paul Pierce on why Jayson Tatum is under appreciated: “Because he plays for Boston, Boston is the most hated team in all of sports… The guy has been to 6 ECF in 8 years, 2 finals in 8 years. Like if you match that up the KD’s and with all the stars they ain’t do that.”

ELON: TESLA IS THE WORLD’S BIGGEST ROBOT MAKER AND AI SAFETY LEADER "Tesla is arguably the world's biggest robot maker, because we have basically semi-autonomous cars that will ultimately be fully autonomous. And we are building a humanoid robot that will be basically like the car, but with legs. I kind of held open doing that for a while because I certainly don't want to hasten the AI apocalypse. But clearly, when you look at Boston Dynamics and these humanoid robots, they're going to happen with or without Tesla. So with Tesla, I've got a lot more ability to ensure robotics safety and AI, and I'll try my best to do that." Source: ELON CLIPS

Haha, someone DIY-built a desktop Tesla Optimus 😂 The creator says it has 30 degrees of freedom and is still training its moves. Honestly, isn’t this more fun than the Optimus action figure? What do you think?

Ron Baron on $TSLA: "The stock price is the same as it was 3 years ago. Tesla I think is going to be worth $5 trillion in 10 years; Elon believes more longer term $30 trillion. He think this Optimus robot is going to be his biggest business ever; No way I'm selling (Tesla)."

Very interesting Tesla Optimus news. It's been radio silence since last year on Optimus, except for the fact that Tesla is building multiple factories for its production (pilot in Fremont, massive production in Texas). Here Jason says both the hardware and software is well ahead of what China showcased during their recent impressive bot olympics.
