Is it really this easy to make your own tomato sauce? 🤔
47 Yorum

What is with all the heavy cream based tomato sauces? Do people not like tomato’s? Just take raw tomato chunks and put them in a blender with the onions and garlic. Blend then put to simmer in a pan with some olive oil, herbs and spices. Social media cooking videos are stupid.

I thought it was cool! I love HWC!

@JayGee47505179 The heavy cream takes some of the acidity out of the sauce.

@Merica197138 So does a good white wine. Which is what I use. 😂

Good Morning Merica😂🤣

Good morning Holden! Happy Sunday! I am going to try and make my own tomato sauce today! 😂 We are in the middle of a blizzard today. Feels like a great day to stay home and cook! 😁😉

We had one yesterday, it was actually very nice. Why not plus its a good day to chill, relax and enjoy the down time. Enjoy Merica ( will get u my notes next few days)

I am excited to see them!

This was the 1st 2 mins (light at that time) looked like "its a wonderful life"

Looks delicious!

I am so hungry right now! 😂

Homemade tomato sauce is the BOMB! Fresh, vine-ripened tomatoes are kitchen gold😋

💯💯💯

Yes I do it often. I roast my tomatoes, peppers and garlic in the oven first. Then I make the sauce with fresh onions.

Italians use a “passe-vite” to remove the tomato seeds, which can give the sauce a bitter taste.

@FLCons Why only 5 tomato halves and not 6?!

@FLCons Right! Or why not 7? 🤔

Yes but you don't need all that cream if you want to emulsify it, just use 1/4 stick of butter. Use the highest olive oil you can find. I prefer grazzo

That’s so easy it almost angers me. I wish there was a way to rent grandmas who could teach me these things.

Marcella Hazen was the Queen of Italian & her gravy of 1 can do 32 oz whole tomatoes, 1 stick of butter & 1 onion & a little salt. Her recipe books from the 70’s shows an entire stick (that's what I use) her cookbooks from the 90’s forward say 5 tab. Our family adds garlic cloves & fresh basil & the grandkids say make Marcela's sauce. The recipe is on Google. Your Welcome 😄😄😉🇺🇸

What! No garlic?!!! Shame!!!!!

Add a bit of mushroom and chicken then it's bussin

🔥😋🔥😋

Sauté garlic in olive oil, cut tomatoes (I usually do in quarters), cover pan until tomatoes softened, then smash down, add a little white wine, salt, pepper, and basil and let cook for a little while uncovered. That’s it

what horror movie is this

It needs hamburger. Lol

Easier if you just buy canned crushed tomatoes. Store bought slicing tomatoes are flavorless anyways.

Wow…looks simple and delicioso! 🤌🏼

@jnicolem Exactly!'

This has me wanting to make pasta tonight 🤤

I’m pretty sure there is supposed to be wine

Yes,cooking is fairly easy if you understand heat, seasoning, and texture, but also what good food actually tastes like. Unfortunately, many people are raised on processed and artificially sweet/salty food and haven’t developed a palate for fresh, balanced taste.

Thousands of Italians Chefs and my Italian Grandmother will have a heart attack when they saw this vídeo... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Italian tomato sauce is not so simple and demand hours cooking to be perfect....🇮🇹

That’s Vodka Sauce. Yes. It’s that easy.

Yes. 👏 supper simple! Growing your own tomatoes 🍅 too! You’ll have so many tomatoes!!! They grow like wild fire! Last year I found Purple Tomatoes omg 😳 😋 so good!! If you want any tips &tricks from the trade without bs feel free to reach out! 🤓😎

Looks like it. Now I'm hungry!!!! 🤣

Yes, it takes just a little longer

Yes. If you use canned and stewed tomatoes it is even faster. I make fresh sauce once a week at least.

Y’all be eating food that’s not well seasoned Bet it tastes like depression

Never put cheese in the pan, it goes on the plated food.

i keep the skin on and roast them prior

No

Yes it is!

More or less. It's better if you remove the seeds though, as they are bitter and distract from the taste. Also a good idea to use heirloom tomatoes because the low acid tomatoes don't give you a good flavor profile unless you add wine or vinegar.

I do it all the time. Between my own garden and my son's, we have a LOT of tomatoes. I usually can several jars before the first frost.

not really. Unless you reduce it a lot it tastes like shit. You have to simmer and simmer and stir and simmer and stir and simmer and stir til your eyeballs bleed or it has no flavor. I'm Mister make everything from scratch, and screw making marinara from scratch. Just buy a jar

@_SmokeyGirl25 Absolutely. Making food from scratch isn't as difficult as it might seem, but obviously, more time consuming.
