The key point is that this is the first time in our generation these opportunities are emerging, yet our leaders seem blind to them and instead choose to recycle old approaches ( Turkey ). Our PVC and mass civic education can be part of the solution.

It's only someone who doesn't understand politics and not a good politician that's going to see issues with this China and US partnership with Nigeria, they both see Nigeria is business partners and Nigeria can only gain more by doing business with them because we have what they need Use their difference to enrich the pocket of your country and enhance development

This is a short but very insightful video that clearly explains why Nigeria continues to navigate its complex political and economic landscape in murky waters. While China is aggressively building roads, railways, and other critical infrastructure across developing countries, the United States maintains firm control over global finance and international institutions. Nigeria, caught in between, is constantly walking a diplomatic tightrope. On one hand, we cannot afford to offend the Americans, given their influence over global finance, trade, and security. On the other hand, we must sustain a strong and stable relationship with China, whose investments have become vital to our infrastructure development. Balancing these competing interests is no easy task. Truth be told, this is definitely not the best time to be Nigeria’s president. The decisions required are complex, the margins for error are slim, and every move is scrutinized both at home and abroad. But in all of these complex circumstances, ordinary Nigerians just want food on their tables. No time for grammar or foreign policy.

It is not sweet in the middle and Nigeria is not in the middle because Nigeria as a nation does not know where she want be in the global scheme of things and this is because we lack a leader with a strong will to go above and beyond. Nigeria does not have a national plan, most of Nigeria's president plan based on their agenda probably to increase growthby 3% but forgetting our national interest in term showing the world we are here to compete despite having all the best talent in the world. Every nation of the world is allowed to dream big and solve problem, when you can solve your problem and your neighbour's problem that is when the world will notice you. Nigeria can't solve its problem despite the potential not to mention the world problem and therefore can't compete for global power or relevance. You mentioned China and the USA with their area of dominance, those countries have a predominant will to become world powers and they always dream big which is evinced in the area of their investment. I wish you could do more

They’re poised to be on parity in 2030 when it comes to biggest world hegemony the difference between China 🇨🇳 and the USA 🇺🇸 is that China is not ideological but highly pragmatic, while the US is driven by ideology most of the time

Hopefully it continues to be sweet in the middle, cos there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it😁. Goes without saying, when two Elephants fights - the grass suffers.

In cases like this you can’t solely stand on another side because you might be seen as a “white eyed wolf” but when we look beneath, we will see that it’s a win win those countries too have something they’re are seeing in Nigeria for them to drag Nigeria into it.

It’s not but it’s really not our concern once we understand the intricacies and know how to navigate it diplomatically.

Depends on how we play it. We play it smart, and it’ll be pleasant, we play it otherwise, and it can be disastrous. Although, I wouldn’t really call it “being in the middle”, we are merely trying to go with flow of generosity from both sides. THE RAT & THE POISONED CHALICE
