It's not true that Northerners can't speak English. English is one of the official languages in Nigeria, and many people in the northern region are fluent in it, especially in urban areas and among educated individuals.

To b sincere, mst of us don’t knw how 2 speak English, even dos hu attended skul. Som understand it but can't speak it bcoz dey don’t practice. Like me, ⁴example, I can't speak it very fluently because I mostly speak Hausa and Fulfulde.
