One of the reasons why I love this series, you teach the importance of learning our family history.

Gates is doing the most classy version of Maury Povich's bit. It's great!

Dr. Gates, your show, is GREAT!

You did not disappoint with the newest season of #FindingYourRoots. You continue to enlighten & educate us with these intriguing & fascinating looks into our history & ancestry through the stories of others. In turn, it’s ignited a quest into my own ancestral roots. Thank you.

Some day I’d like to see you introduce 2 cousins to one another instead of a photo. I think it would be more dramatic. And, possibly if they’re close cousins how they’re related through what family lines.

Whew the things we don’t know I love love this show

Loved Julia Robert’s story…but holy cow, Edward Norton’s!!! Am excited to now watch the first 8 SEASONS!!! 💙

How I would love to be able to participate in your show. I’ve submitted my DNA thru ancestry and still can’t locate who my paternal grandfather is. I found out that the man my grandma thought was her father is not. Having the hardest time sorting this out😔

These DNA stories remind me; be careful what you ask for. After 50+ years, my life was forever changed.

I found out fairly recently that my last name is a total sham. Was just a name my paternal grandfather picked after relocating. He then married and had kids with that name, then changed his name back and relocated interstate to resume his previous life.
