I love Mexico. I go every single year. She’s right about safety. I feel safer in Mexico than I do walking around the lower mainland

She’s 💯 right but there are some mitigating factors beyond the delusion that Canada is the greatest country in world, including: 1. Family 2. No place like home 3. Many of these nomad enclaves are tiring of foreigners staying beyond typical vacation time and are now expressing it 4. Income —it’s still harder to make a buck in cheap-to-live places. 5. If you cash out and check out, it will be even harder financially to return if you change your mind. 6. I still hold hope for Alberta

Family and Safety: - living like a queen in self-indulgence or an actual fulfilled life with friends and family? - not wanting to be apart from Canadian friends and family is not an unreasonable excuse for many - children are going missing in Mexico all the time. Teens. Adults. In mexico City (CDMX), there is a massive monument. To whom? Missing people. - between CDMX and Puebla, the bus a day prior to ours was pulled over and robbed at gunpoint. Passports and all. Everything. - Yes, CDMX at night, with others feels relatively safe. A single woman? Not smart anywhere that I've been except Japan Shoebox apartment - better bang for peso in MX, yes. But if in the cities, you won't have a backyard like in Canada. - rural Mexico does offer - mexico does not have a stable government. Its cartel run, and if you live there, you either accept it or ignore it. And expect to pay bribes or extortion. A permit. A police interaction. And you will be robbed. The pickpocket and thieves there are good. I've seen enough to know. Even people crawling under bus seats to go through your girlfriends purse.

She's not wrong ... I've been looking at Mexico ... this country has gone to shit, and it looks to be getting a lot worse before it gets better.
