Is Super Mario Galaxy 2 better than SMG1?

Galaxy 2 is good because it has Yoshi and a nostalgic factor. Galaxy 1 has better music imo

It depends on what you prefer, Galaxy 1 tried to be more epic an emotional, while Galaxy 2 tried to focus on a more funny and familiar scenario. That's why i prefer Galaxy 1.

Galaxy 1. Galaxy 1 levels felt like actual galaxies. Galaxy 2 levels just felt like typical Mario levels

I personally think 1 is better than 2

As a good video once said, galaxy 1 is more towards story while 2 is more towards gameplay. It depends on what of the 2 you value more

Atmosphere wise I would say no but gameplay and galaxy wise hell yes. There are so many 1 off wasted potential galexys in 1 that would have benefited from prankster comets or extra stars imo. Green stars are anoying but it’s a ok scavenger hunt. Atmosphere wise tho g1 slams.

I like the more cinematic scenes of 1, but I like 2's levels more

Super Mario Galaxy 1 is the first game I ever played but let's be honest setting aside my nostalgia : Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the better game

Gameplay wise? Sure But in terms of atmosphere, SMG1 just can be beaten

I think Galaxy 2 is better but nothing will compete with that first experience on Super Mario Galaxy 1

I always leaned more towards Galaxy 2 for its level design, power-ups, and overall pacing, but Galaxy 1 does have better atmosphere and storytelling. Both are essential Mario games to own, though.

Galaxy 2 é mais bem polido, tem visuais melhores, menus e fases mais rápidas, fator diversão melhor no geral e mais colorido. Se o 1 não tivesse a Rosalina e a música do observatório ninguém ia ligar tanto.
