My first time in a helicopter was in a huey, the shaking on startup got me rattled, lol

I feel like they put 95% of those buttons and switches in they’re just to confuse the average person so if they climb in there, they wouldn’t know how to start it🤨

Flew out of Templehof in a US Army Huey on a nightflight around the "Wall" and the border fence in the 60s as crew chief.

They fly one of these out of my airport it's privately owned and they must be pretty rich because it constantly has mountain bikes strapped to the landing struts… Like they're flying somebody up into the trails to ride their bikes back… Must be fucking nice Beautiful bird 🫡

That IS a beautiful sound. Much more sophisticated than my old APU....kc 135A.. Haa. I loved the warmth she gave in those cold 0- 30 A.M December startups but dam....Id preferred to use a yard stick to start that thing. Haaa...I melted 1 of my old slip sticks leaving it too close to the exhaust port.... but yes...the sound of a jet engine starting up is well...like a old song stuck in your head you just cant stop singing.....its beautiful...
