Aang wasn’t supposed to find out till he was 16 they told him early because they had suspicions the fire nation was up to something and they were correct

16 is in fact the correct answer, and of course there’s exceptions to that rule LOL (ex. Aang being on the brink of war, Korra being Korra). Not to mention, in ATLA; there’s a scene that shows Roku finding out on his 16th birthday as well.

The answer is literally any age... Typically they want to wait til 16 so the avatar can have a normal upbringing but THAT IS NOT set in stone... You can be told at any given point

The nation they belong to knows at a young age by testing all children born after the current avatar dies. They are told when they are 16 then sent to train. Aang was told early because of War. Korra started bending multiple elements young so it wasn’t hidden til she was of age.

It is 16 as is tradition. That’s when the avatar is supposed to start their journey. Aang hand strenuous circumstances and Korra was born with natural talent. Aang had pressure from the war. And korra no one had seen an avatar bend 3 elements so young before.

Typically, avatars learn of their roles when they are 16, based on the toy selection test they had when they were a kid. Aang learned he was the Avatar at 12 only because the 100-year war was starting and it wasn't safe at the air temple, so they were going to relocate him.

The question wasn’t correct for the answer they wanted of 16 it should’ve went more like “at what age are you (typically/supposed) to been in informed your the Avatar?” The question they asked is to vague that changes from Avatar to Avatar

I wa thought it depended on each individual cause Korra was like 5 and the air nomads has a specific way of finding out who the avatar is and each nation had its own way
