Is the NFL rigged/scripted?

I actually did a deep dive on this one recently. Chargers vs Seahawks is the most penalized game so far this season with 30 accepted penalties (32 called). CBS only showed replays for 15 of the penalties!

I disagree to a point. Not every game is rigged but there are certain games that Vegas needs to cover the spread because the public is heavily on the opposite side. Not every game and not every week but best believe Vegas always wins in the end.

nfl wants to keep games close. that means calling penalties and bad calls against better teams.

So spot on. This is even more evident in college football. You can tell there is a “preferred outcome” in some games depending on conferences in play and the playoff implications. You’ll get and absolutely insane spot (for instance) and the broadcast will noticeable just go silent…no mention of questioning it and no replay show, then on to the next play. They know what the preferred outcome is for the network and they just hope you were looking at your phone during the play in question.

It’s not scripted like a movie However the officials and especially the replay officials manufacture outcomes by making certain calls at strategic times This has been obvious for years with Chiefs I never understood WHY the Chiefs until the whole Travis & Tay-Tay Crap started

Eagles jags. Jags fumble. The head ref signals the eagles recover. They review this two different times give the ball back to the jags saying there was no clear recovery and the head ref did NOT signal a recovery when in fact the head ref signaled that it was the eagles ball.

Every game is fixed. All but one prime time game this year was won by the underdog. As soon as teams get to the “edge of FG range” they forget how to play football. Happens every game. You saw the stoppage in Rams-Bills game? Refs “icing” the kicker? They’re collecting bets.

If morons think the sides are rigged in the NFL, why dont these same morons just start betting props and not lines? I mean there's a BOATLOAD of money to be made in any given NFL game without worrying about bad calls or refs taking sides. Losers blame NFl for being rigged period!

the word your looking for in "influenced". and yes, the majority of games are heavily influenced by officiating. you can usually tell within the first couple drives, when any momentum a certain team gets is negated by phantom flags

I don’t think the games are rigged. I do believe that certain teams and players benefit from calls more than others. The NBA is way more blatant.

I agree. The overwhelmingly majority of games are not rigged, but it is plausible that a few games may have been rigged. Also it is clear that at times Goodell and the league office tell refs to “let them play” like in the most recent Super Bowl.

Is every game rigged? No. But God himself couldn't convince me that the NFL doesn't have preferred outcomes over the course of a season and will do whatever they can to make them happen. Beyond bad calls, it's OBVIOUS refs play favorites and let things slide for *certain* teams.
