Is the Vision Pro expensive? Yes. Can it be compared to other headsets? Not at all—at least not in general—because it does a lot of things that others simply don’t. If you haven't tried this out yet with your own memories this will be hard for you to understand. But combined with music, this actually feels like time travelling and completely redefines the way you relive past memories. Honestly, this feature alone would be worth $2K to me. True. Still the biggest problem. Videos just don't do it justice. Like it's not even close.

In my limited time using vision pro, these screen recordings don’t even remotely do the experience justice. The UI is seamless and perfect. Immersive video literally made my jaw drop.

Beautifully written😊…when I was allowed to see the vision for the first time, the same thought came to me. Time is fleeting and memories fade, but with the vision you can experience it anew.(a great slideshow is still missing and a way to wipe away tears)

well written, i feel similarly regarding my experience. on a similar note, i have found myself taking more spatial video the past year or so because i enjoy it so much to watch it back later. i don’t record at concerts so as to be present in the moment, but the clips are sickk

I do use it fairly often, but spatial photos and videos do absolutely nothing for me. To me they make the photos and videos look worse. I know I’m in the minority with this, but I dont get the emotional experience people have with them. I use it for an epic Mac display though.

For me, the depth helps my brain process more information and grasp the content of the image faster. I especially noticed this with food, where I could see more details. However, it’s not perfect—I almost never take “true” spatial photos or videos myself since I prefer higher resolution and generating the “fake” 3D version works well enough for me.

You are right. Unfortunately old photos enhanced in spatial 3D look better than new 3D pictures which are blurred around them. And we lack the support of 10 years old 3D video cameras which are 2D played on Mac but not viewable at all on Vision Pro 😥

Completely agree with you on the concept of value. Whenever anyone asks “is it worth it?” that is subjective. Is it worth it to someone struggling to put food on the table from paycheck to paycheck and who only uses computers/phones to get on Facebook or check their email? No. But each of us have things we enjoy. No two people like the same things or find worth in the same things. I love my Vision Pro. It does so many things nothing else can do. The price is very much worth it to me. But to each their own.

I have witnessed a trend with many products and services and other aspects of society in this generation. People will find similarities with something, then immediately try to refute that it is better or the same. I.e. Lebron James and MJ The Vision Pro fits on your head, it's a headset, so people see it as part of the Quest (or similar) product group. Vision Pro is a Pro-sumer product, not a gaming headset. It has it's own niche of features and purposes. Can some of the other products do some of these features . . yes! Can Vision Pro play games . . yes! I suspect many of these folks have an Iphone or competitor in their pocket. The same conversations were had when it arrived.

separately - have you found a third party camera to use to get images like this for vision pro - so instead of spatial on iphone some better third party camera?

This app is cool and a great way to relive memories but it doesn’t look like “Apple’s Machine Learning” creating the 3D experience. As a 3D artist it just looks like the image is mapped to a concave surface that gives a parallax effect while the edges are blurred for immersion.

Unfortunately, in Poland, even if I wanted to buy this equipment, it kills the price and I have to have two accounts only for the USA
