Why don’t you define the problem? It was Greek racism! Begining in 1963 with Bloody Noel, Megali Idea follower Nazi like racist EOKA began ethnic cleansing murders against Turks. In 1974 EOKA did a coup against the Cyprus goverment. EOKA wanted to unite the island with Greece while commiting a genocide against Turkish Cypriots. Turkiye intervened against this unhuman act regarding to the guarantor rights according to the international conventions. Turkiye was so rightful that the Turkish Armed Forces did not take over all the island. After this Peace Operation no Turks were massacered by racist Greeks and peace was established. As the solution… Years after the Peace Operation came the Annan Plan. Who refused the Plan? Greeks! BECAUSE YOU ARE NAZI LIKE RACISTS CLAIMING ALL THE ISLAND AND SEEING TURKISH CYPRIOTS AS SUBHUMAN. Stop crying Nazi!

Yes. The solution to the Cyprus Problem has been implemented +50 years ago. Since then, the Greek violence has been stopped; no single causality has been recorded. It is just you, failing to comprehend the situation.

Malaka talks like Turkey is the one to blame. In fact Turkey & Turkish Cypriots accepted united nations' Annan plan in 2004 for reunificaiton while greek cyprus rejected the plan. Years later, 2017 crans montana meetings, Turkey accepted even withdrawning military from cyprus +

Is there a Solution to the Cyprus Problem? First of all, we need to acknowledge a simple reality: there has been no Cyprus problem since 1974, and certainly no problem since 1983. The real problem was the decades-long refusal of the Greek Cypriot leadership to share authority, power, and security with the Turkish Cypriots. That era is over. Today, the facts on the ground are undeniable. The island is home to two nationally and religiously distinct peoples, each with their own institutions, identities, and political futures. Forcing them into a single framework that has already failed repeatedly is neither realistic nor fair. It’s about time the international community recognizes this reality. Two states exist. Two states function. Two states should be recognized. The way forward is to accept this and move on.

Dear Greek Cypriots, you cannot be both oppressors and victims. You keep whining that your project to cleanse the island of Turks has been sabotaged. There is no solution, because there is no problem.

I think there needs to be a political system with a two-state solution for lasting peace to prevail on the island.

Know your place. Just because Cyprus 🇨🇾 is an EU 🇪🇺 member doesn't mean that Cyprus🇨🇾 is or will ever be more important to the EU than Turkey 🇹🇷. Turkey is a NATO force, an economical force and a strategic force. Don't think you're anywhere near that just because you're an EU member. These are the facts and sooner or later you will accept them. There needs to be no blood shed over this.

Is there any solution to the problem that Fidias poses by trying to interfere with bringing child traffickers to justice? Why won't the EU investigate who organised his trip to party with child abusers immediately after the vote and who paid for the fancy €3,000 a night hotel?

Two states is the only solution. Turkey doesn’t want its people to be betrayed and slaughtered again in the hands of the fascist Greek Cypriots.

Why in 2004 Greek Cypriots voted against unification while Turkish Cypriots voted for yes. And also Turkey accepted the withdrawal from island. I think Greeks are so maximalistic and they will never accept middle ground. Two state for two separate nation is the best solution.

Avrupa Birliğine güvenmek en büyük hatanız. sizi neden tek taraflı olarak üyeliğe aldı hiç düşündün mü. Kara gözünüz kara kaşınız için mi? Onlar burada bir çözümsüzlük istiyor. Yansanız bitseniz umurlarında olmaz. Birbiriyle güzel ilişkiler içinde olan iki devlet olun rahat edin.

The real questions here should be: 1) When will the European Union correct its mistake of admitting the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus into the EU without Türkiye, purely for political interests? 2) How will the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus and Greece account for the massacres and forced displacement committed against the Turkish Cypriots? 3) When will Greece return and demilitarize the islands it has illegally occupied and armed? Does Türkiye need to exercise its legal right of intervention on those islands as it did in Cyprus? 4) How will Greece account for the oppression and acts of persecution it has committed against the Turkish population in Western Thrace?

They said NO to Annan plan. They lost the opportunity. They thought EU will save them. Turkey is PERMANENT in cyprus. It is out of discussion.

You say sanctions as first thing for the solution. My friend, you have to change this attitude at first, you have to accept that turkey has reasons to has been there. Then we can talk about the best solution for Turkish and greek cypriots.

..as annoying, upsetting and a little bit condescending as his answer is, he is absolutely right, no one cares about this problem, or not enough countries care and it’s gone on for so long now, not a lot of people outside of Cyprus, Turkey and Greece even know about it

Look at the face of the host! Disbelief and disappointment. He tries desperately to make Mr. Mearshheimer stand up for Greek thesis. And the harsh reality. Nobody wants to confront Turkey for Cyprus.

Ik think what you do here Fidias is exactly what you can do. You have your platform and start the conversation. You are overpowered, but you don't have to be silenced. I understand this is a serious issue for your people, what if cyprus would come up with alternative solutions to improve relationships with turkey, other than just the demand to get the land back. A good neighbor has more value than a far away friend, maybe you can find something that will benefit all parties.

Cyprus has lived in a stable, peaceful status quo. Since 1974, two communities have governed themselves, avoided violence, and built predictable daily life. Crossings are open, people interact safely, and both sides have moved on. Just lift the embargoes and recognize the TRNC

Ok guys, Listen! The solution is North Cyprus becomes part of Türkiye. Türkiye becomes a member of EU. And everyone whether you’re from south or north of Cypriot lives wherever they want. Greeks are welcome in Türkiye and Turks can and should live wherever they want in the EU.

You can’t do much. Cyprus fucked up years ago when they tried their luck agains the turkish population of cyprus. They thought they could get rid of the turkish population by force. They just provoked turkey to protect their nationals from greek scum.

Greeks voted no to the Annan plan which was the golden one in a million chance. The only solution that is realistic: 1. Greece joins the Turkish sphere of influence instead of Israel, France or Russia. 2. Israel is removed from the region.

The only acceptable solution for Greek Cypriots to have whole island and remove Turkish Cypriots! Otherwise They should have been voted to Annan Plan YES ! Since They say NO that means they don’t want to live with Turkish Cypriots together!
