Looked clean. It was just a hard hit. Could the safety have let up? Maybe but he was trying to force an incompletion. I blame the QB for leading his receiver into this. Looked like the receiver got the wind knocked out of him. Scary for 10 sec but the receiver recovers.

What level is this? High School it’s a 15 yard personal foul as the WR needs time to establish himself after the catch. Huge point of emphasis from NFHS to eliminate these types of hits.

It’s a clean-ish hit. Clean because he leads with his shoulder, hits within the strike zone “Ish” because the WR was still a defenceless receiver some refs would call it, some wont.

Not in 2023. I wish we could find a middle ground on hitting receivers - no launching your body like a missile, avoid head and neck area. Shoulder pads to the chest plate/numbers of a receiver should be considered clean as long as the defender doesn’t launch his body.

For anyone that says thats a clean hit, he clearly hit the head and neck so it is not a clean hit

It’s a hard hit but I don’t think it’s the safeties job to protect the receiver.
