U just seen Sumbody do it and the first thing you ask is … is this actually possible? This why I hate mfs on the internet 🤣🤣

Since the hammer head is not forged, but instead made up of individual coins with irregular surfaces heated together, the hammer is likely to not last repeated Hitting and will probably fall apart… 🤷‍♂️

Possible, but I don't know why you would. You can buy soft-faced hammers with anything from nylon to bronze relatively cheap.

it's possible but an horrible idea. The solder wasn't warm enough to melt the zinc of the coins together. It will sooner than later crack and let the coins go loose. It would be much wiser to smelt it back in one piece.

Or?? You could have just gone down to your local hardware store and bought a hammer! Nice video though!

I am trained as a metalsmith. Is it possible? Absolutely. Would I recommend actually doing it? No, not really. If you are going to make a brass hammer, you are going to be better off starting with solid brass stock than brazing coins together.

if it was actual copper I dont see why not. But I wouldnt trust it to stay together. Instead of all this crap just get a solid piece. Plus you would more than likely want brass anyways.

Well, not in the U.K. they are steel. I own copper hammers. Only used brass bar as a drift (dumb end chisel). If they had a handle it was steel rod wrapped around them so your work mate didn’t smash you hand with a sledge hammer :D
