How To Throw ANY Knife With Accuracy:

The tomato one is impossible because the knife is smaller than the circumference of the tomato so it wouldn’t split in half it would just get impaled on the knife. Also the towel was cut before he used the card.

It's essentially two carbide cutters set at an angle probably about 15 degrees from vertical, when you drag the knife blade between them, it shaves metal off the edge. It will get the edge at the proper angle, but it still needs to be honed to get really sharp.
