This seems unfair at face value. But the economics behind is sound. Foreigner's PPP in SL is higher due to higher income. Many countries have privileges reserved for citizens. It's not uniquely SL. SL ppl get paid less for the same work in SL even under foreign employees. Fair?!

It's reasonable based on what I know about the rates outside Sri Lanka. This is pretty normal or least compared to the rates outside Sri Lanka.

Very soon we will need to increase the train fares too for foreigners, who are being subsidized on their rides by the government budget- or actually by the local tax payer.

Certain Asian countries charges different rate for local vs foreign. But it's not like 10x or 12x. It's their country they can charge whatever amount they want as long as it's transparent and the foreigner knows ahead time what is he/she going to pay.
