This woman’s story tracks with my experience of Indigenous kids I grew up with up north. Their home lives were much more problematic than school, parents were non functioning alcoholics, kids were neglected, malnourished. That was the reality.

FN activists would have us believe that every residential school was a hellscape where they bulldozed students into mass graves.

It takes great courage to speak out against your people. Her experience was not limited nor untypical, but speaking out is uncommon because of the shunning that will happen as a result. She is brave and spectacular in her courage to say how things really were.

According to Leah Gazan, she should be jailed for at least 2 years

We need to find any and all testimonies from people who had positive experiences, there are 2 sides to this story and only one is being allowed to be addressed. They will erase whatever they can that doesn’t fit the narrative they want believed.

I’ve heard about stories like hers here in BC and in Alberta, many are very thankful. No doubt lots of negative things went on but it wasn’t bad for everyone. Probably saved a lot of lives.

Is it possible that what she's saying could be considered hate speech?

Undeniable a tragedy, and acknowledging it doesn't require blind acceptance of every narrative spun around it. I grow rural and heard stories first hand much like this one.

My Aunt worked at a residential school and she said the residence was much nicer than where she lived.

I think it would be denialism. I've heard this a few times right out of the mouths of people who attended.

What year was this from? This is the reality they don't want Canadians to hear because this doesn't fit their narrative to keep the big money scam going.

Who determines what's best for the children? When is it acceptable to remove parental rights? How many children have been lost or harmed while in the government run system?

Sadly my uncle hit a FN kid when he was driving. It took the RCMP a while to find the parents who were not watching the child. I haunted him.

"I had a really good experience at residential schools, because with the chaos and the violence in my home, when I came to the residential school there was some place that was clean...sober...orderly...I felt safe." "To her, residential school meant salvation."

Who is denying that residential schools existed? I thought it was just that no mass graves existed? Am I missing information?

The same can be said for Foster Care- or group homes. Not all experiences are the same obviously. Child predators & abusers don't wear signs, but they live among us & gravitate to organizations that places them in close proximity or in trusted care positions of children.
