When police arrived the met Derek who was destroying personnel belongings as well as the belongings of his roommate and live in girlfriend. Derek thought he had the moral high ground after discovering evidence of his girlfriend was messing around by seeing the messages on her Apple Watch. This would be an absolute gut punch, no doubt. But instead of walking away or handling the situation with a shred of composure, he turned his shared living space into a war zone. Things did not end there. While waiting for his citation his girlfriend arrived home to see the damage that Derek caused. Words started to be exchanged and in the heat of the moment Derek threw his girlfriend's laptop at her right in front of the officer. As a result he was instantly placed in cuffs and charged with domestic violence. Moral of the story? Cheating is a betrayal of trust, but reacting with total destruction is a betrayal of yourself.
