Carmelo Anthony on Bam 83: "I don't care how everybody felt about his 83, he got 83. If you ever played this game before you know how hard it is to score 10, 20 points. 83 points I don't care who record he breaks. Bam I take my hat off to you. 83 you deserve to keep that sign. Don't let anybody take that away from you. Listen when its time to grab the moment, you go grab it. Bam grabbed history. Its 83 points in a NBA game. WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT!"

Dwyane Wade on the criticism Bam is receiving for scoring 83: “I don’t think Bam gonna give his 83 points back. We all want things to look a certain way. If it don’t, we be like ‘nope, asterisk.’ When you think of somebody scoring 83, You think of BUCKETS being put on somebody head. You think of 3s, pull ups, tough shots. You have this vision in your mind of what 83 points look like. Then you see 36/43 from FT line and 7/22 from 3 and you’re like ‘ain’t no way. Unacceptable!’ This is what I hate for Bam, let’s take away the last 5 minutes of the game, Bam played an incredible basketball game. The first 3 quarters, was the best individual performance we seen this year in the NBA. Then the last 5 minutes, it becomes a spectacle…. It didn’t end how we wanted it to but that’s not a Bam problem. Bam did what Bam was supposed to do. I’m on this floor trying to get the W and go for the record books! The man had 83, However he got It. YOU CANT GET 83 AT LIFETIME FITNESS RIGHT NOW!” (Via Wy Network by Dwyane Wade)

So many times you see coaches take out players when you have the lead for sportsmanship, F*CK THAT…. Shout out to Bam. 83 on all the haters! Should it have been Bam? Vernon Maxwell says Bam scoring 83 points was bad for the NBA and Kobe is rolling over in his grave 😬 “83 is 83 but the way he got it, it’s like fake news. I saw the game and towards the end it got sketchy. It was f*cked up! Washington was playing like they wanted to get the game over they were down 30 points. You got Miami players fouling them motherf*ckers. The 43 f*cking FTs? Good god that’s half of his motherf*cking points. Kobe is turning over in his grave. God bless you Kobe. There’s a lot of BS going on in the NBA and the sh*t you saw with Bam is part of it. It was a ugly look for the NBA” (Via ALL THE SMOKE)

Kendrick Perkins says people are mad at Kobe’s 81 being passed up because Bam was the one who did it: “The reason people are in their feelings is because it was unexpected. If we was to take a poll of which player would you pick to be the one to break Kobe Bryant’s 81, Bam wouldn’t have made my top 50. Now you have the Kobe and Laker fans who are mad about it because they thought this record wouldn’t be broken. Then a guy that’s not known as a scorer breaks that record? Shout out to Bam because although he shot 43 FTs, you still have to make them! You’re mad at Bam when you should be mad at the Wizards!” (Via Road Trippin’ Show)

Mychal Thompson on Bam Adebayo’s 83-point game: “83 points. I was hoping he would get to 90. How special would that have been? I don’t understand why people were upset by that. Draymond Green reacts to the LaMelo Ball and Bam Adebayo tripping controversy: “Before Bam exit that game, he was working Diabte… if Bam Adebayo doesn’t get hurt, LaMelo Ball don’t get fined. Let’s take it a step farther, I’m happy they didn’t suspend LaMelo for a game because you can’t suspend him just because he got hurt. We saw the same thing when Sabonis grabbed my ankle and nothing happened. You can’t have it both ways. Was it an intentional trip? To me, he grabbed and pulled him. Yes it was an intentional trip. Was he intentionally trying to hurt him? No. I don’t think LaMelo is thinking ‘I’m bout to grab Bam ankle, he’s gonna fall on his ass and hurt his back.’” (Via The Draymond Green Show)

Iman Shumpert with a message to any NBA player that has a issue with Bam scoring 83 👀 “I compare It to when Kobe did things that reminded me of Michael Jordan… I watched everybody have something to say, and the reason it made them mad, is because he got to do it on that stage. Anybody with a negative reaction of Bam breaking that record, is somebody who wants to know if they can score 85… We watch records be broken all the time. The only way to break a record like 81 is to shoot enough, and he did…. My hat goes off to him, they can’t take it away from you Bam. You are 2nd only to Wilt Chamberlain. Anybody that has something to say, tell them to score 85” (Via NBA on ESPN)

Gabe Vincent defends Bam Adebayo’s 83 point game: “Why is it a problem to score more than Kobe? He gotta shoot more turn around or what? If there was more step backs and crossovers and he had 83 would you like it more? — it’s not easy to put up 83 points in a gym by yourself. I gotta tip my hat. We still don’t have footage of Wilt… Obviously Bam is my guy but I feel for him from the backlash he got.” (via Numbers On The Board, h/t Heat Central)

Rich Paul says you are ‘sick’ if you’re trying to discredit Bam scoring 83 points 👀 “I don’t understand the pushback I’m hearing. I got up this morning and hear all this yelling about why they are trying to discredit Bam… 83 points from a guy that’s not known as this type of scorer. Bam is a 25&12, 20&15 defense first. He doesn’t even look for that. He’s a team fist guy and will do whatever it takes to win. When a guy like that gets an opportunity to do what he did last night, for someone to have a problem with that, they’re sick. There’s a real issue here” (Via Game Over)

Jokingly asked Khris Middleton if he could score 83 points like Bam Adebayo: “Whoo. Hey, S/O to Bam. That was tough. A lot of people are talking about him, but for Bam, I got a lot of respect for him. He’s been a hell of a player in this league. More known for his defense, but for anybody to go out there & score 83, especially a guy like Bam hitting 3-pointers, it just shows he’s worked on his game also.”

Tyronn Lue had a great quote about Bam Adebayo’s 83-point performance and some of the criticism around it: “He shouldn't listen to it. He scored 83 points. It's Wilt, Bam, Kobe. It doesn't matter what people are talking about or saying. It's stupid. He got the record, no matter how he did it, or second best behind the 100. However he did it, whatever happened, he scored 83 points. That's something that's hard to do, no matter if you're playing against a high school team, a junior high team, 83 points is a lot of points. So I'm very happy for Bam, very happy for Spo, it was a great night for Miami.”
