Tell that to the 270 million dead from jihad over 1400 years. Islam didn’t spread by hugs and dates, it spread by swords and submission. Don’t rewrite history just because it hurts your feelings.

So peaceful it was able to spread through Christian Egypt, Christian Anatolia, Christian Mesopotamia, Christian Libya, Christian Algeria, Christian Iberia, Christian Syria, Christian Palestine and Christian Armenia, all in a matter of a century or two. Peaceful, of course.

Islam reached Indonesia & Malasyia via spice-trade ports + Sufi scholars, not conquest (UNESCO SilkRoads, Ricklefs). In contrast, US/CA/AUS grew from settler wars & broken treaties (ScienceDirect – Settler Colonialism). Violence is imperial, not inherent to a faith!

First of all, Islam spread with violence. The stipulations were conversions to Islam, payment of the jizya, or death. Some paid the jizya and converted, but the Muslims fought many battles of conquest. At first, they were the minority, but they gradually grew as the majority.
