Very accurate and self aware. Another thing I've noticed with muslims is that they don't tend to reconcile their islamic and pre-islamic heritage. It's almost as if they're insecure in their identity. Contrast this with "Anglo-Saxon Christians".

a) Most Muslim majority countries have strong nationalistic identities. Not all of them are true nation states but many are. The idea of "Muslim World" or "Islamdom" or whatever you call it generally comes from the mind of the diaspora.
