We give thanks not because we are satisfied or happy with everything or everyone around us. Not because we have the answers to the many niggling questions that keep us awake at night. Not because we know the way. We give thanks because he gave us life. We are still here with a fighting chance, no matter how bleak it may seem. There's a reason we are still breathing and not on a cold morgue slab. That reason is the hope we cling on to. The faith we keep. The process we trust. He has kept us going for a reason.
