The video showing spoofing of so many planes certainly adds context to this OPSGROUP report from yesterday.

GPSJAM doesn't show GNSS spoofing distinct from jamming, and maybe spoofing doesn't even show up as jamming at all–though that's something I'll be looking at given this new dataset. But this chart quantifies the increased the level of interference over Israel since 2023-10-07.

Looking at where the GPS on these aircraft was telling them they were: A very tight cluster, with many aircraft all within a few meters laterally. I don't know GPS spoofing; Naively I'd think that's the easiest thing to do: All receivers think they're at exactly the same place.

I have no idea if the spoofed location has any significance (but it is a few hundred feet from the 1949 Israel-Syria armistice line).

"It's jamming ADS-B. It has nothing to do with GPS." ADS-B, which is the information that planes broadcast containing their position (and other info), uses GNSS (usually GPS) so if you spoof or jam GPS, it affects the positions that aircraft report with ADS-B. This is the whole idea behind and why it's useful. Check the FAQ there for some more info.

Kind of naive to just assume ADS-B is 100% correct in a warzone. This depends on every aircraft transmitter to be untampered/ not disconnected, and also for the ADS-B receivers to be perfectly receiving over the entire region. People just assume this is magically correct?

Nobody assumes it's 100% correct. In aviation, GNSS isn't typically used as the sole source of navigation. But deliberate GNSS interference appears to be increasing and its impact is likely to grow. Until recently it didn't seem to be a major issue outside a few specific regions.
