Before attacking this statement or video, try to appreciate that those of us who oppose such activities are entitled to our opinion. Especially as we see our argument isn't only against what we see as vandalism, but the beastardisation of art, and even culture. Thank you 🤝

DOUG BURGUM ON REFLECTING POOL VANDALISM: “We had very few or no cameras at the beginning because we have cameras all over our monuments. “The reflecting pool is part of the Lincoln Memorial, but there had never been vandalism on this helpless, harmless reflecting pool before. “Until President Trump decided to beautify it, then others decided it was a point of attack. But we got mobile camera stations and towers in that captured some of the secondary activity. “We did have some vandalism starting as early as June 9, which we didn’t advertise because we didn’t want to have copycats. But we started putting up cameras, and we’ve got better camera coverage today.”

I built a robot that scans Kraków’s streets for graffiti using Mapillary’s imagery. It processes 3,500 frames across eight districts by: - Fetching data: Pulling Kraków images and GPS/timestamps via Mapillary’s Graph API. - Segmenting: Running Meta’s SAM 3 model on Apple Silicon via MLX to identify graffiti candidates. - Classifying: Using CLIP zero-shot to filter out non-graffiti objects like signs and trees. - Geocoding: Converting detections into Polish addresses and Straż Miejska districts via ArcGIS. - Filtering: Retaining only the newest capture per wall. - Reporting: Preparing payloads for Kraków’s city council online server The tool currently operates in dry-run mode, but could automate real reports to the city. So far, it has identified 471 graffiti sites across eight districts, showing that existing city infrastructure can be used to pre-fill reporting forms at scale. ALERT: Vigilantes go on a rampage, destroying FLOCK cameras in a quiet Northern California county. Marcus Bee, 40, was one of the alleged suspects and was seen destroying 3 of the Flock cameras and even ramming one with his truck in Monterey County. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office arrested Bee on suspicion of felony vandalism and set his bail at $30,000. Seaside police have stated that 2 cameras were also destroyed and believe it is a targeted incident. “There’s more than just vandalism alone. Here’s one thing I really, really like about P BAT. A few weeks ago, someone raised an alarm about vandalism on the Lagos Calabar Coastal Road barricade, and today, it’s already being fixed,with a better method to reduce future vandalism. There are leaders we both know that, no matter how much you complain, it would take months before anything is done. But in this case, it took barely over a week from when the video surfaced to when action was taken. A leader who listens is a good leader, regardless of differing opinions. And it’s not just about listening,it’s also about the willingness to do things the right way.
