I dedicated my life and platforms to calling for the release of the hostages for 2 years. I stood in their homes after October 7. I hugged parents who hadn’t heard their child’s voice in months. I cried with survivors who lived through the unthinkable. And I promised: I will NEVER stop fighting for you. After 737 days, the last living hostages are finally home. But this is not the end. We will not stop fighting until ALL the remaining deceased hostages are back home for a proper burial. With the ceasefire finally in place, hope is finding its way back. Two years changed everything about our lives, but not my mission. I became a father, and soon another baby will arrive. Through it all, I kept cooking for the children, for the families still holding on. I’ll keep cooking for every child until the last one of them returns to their rebuilt home, safe and sound, feeling home again. Until then, I’ll keep cooking with whatever I can find. My goal now is to visit every displacement camp in Gaza, to cook for the people there, and to bring them cooking tools and supplies whenever possible. This time I cooked macaroni, mushrooms, corn, and some poor cheese. It wasn’t perfect, but their smiles made it enough.

For these children, a hug from their parents is not daily it is rationed to weekends, treasured like a festival Childhood should be about freedom, love, and play not about waiting and counting days to feel loved in person. Yes, they learn discipline. Yes, they learn to be strong. But a BIG part of their childhood is quietly sacrificed.
