It doesn't matter how many times I've seen this scene, it will always make me cry. This part was devastating, and knowing one of my favorite movie directors (Guillermo del Toro) was the influence / encouragement behind killing Stoick to make the scene more impactful... ouch.

Gobber was originally the one to die, but Guillermo said Stoick being out of the picture would be more impactful and press Hiccup taking on responsibility as Chief finally

I like how the film acknowledges that no matter what happened in Drago's past, it doesn't justify the cruel and barbaric man he became.

Drago and his Bewilderbeast is basically Skar King and Shimo but well written

I just love this movie even more knowing Guillermo del Toro made this happen the way it did, omg 🥺

This scene could have been great but IMO the fact they just showed whole body it had less impact

It's interesting how Drago decided not to kill the mcs because he had the chance after winning this battle. Like eventhough he's the way he is, he's not uneccessary cruel and has a limit. I think that makes the character interesting.
