Possible confounds: The naan are fully cooked, but the baguettes are finish-at-home, so though the baguettes are lighter, they're firmer. The only naan available were garlic and coriander. The seasoning mix may have undermined the structural integrity.

Baguettes: 2 Naan: Nil Decisive European victory

the disintegration of the naan was an incredible disappointment to me

I feel your pain my brother. I wanted so badly to see the naan soar.

@BarbaBabbaBoo No way would it go further than the baguette no matter how you throw it

@BarbaBabbaBoo Perhaps unsurprisingly, it depends entirely on the consistency of each bread

Incredible content

@nikitabier where's my X cheques

Genuinely shocked, I'd assumed the naan would fly like a disc

Ladies and gentleman — a breakthrough

Reckon the baguette would go further thrown like a javelin or hammer throw ?

The weight distribution is too even for javelin I fear

can't argue with real world results

Appreciate your effort, but it's invalid. French bakery baguette needs to be challenged by tandoori naan.

Take a stale naan bread to see if it changes anything

I don't get why people don't roll the naan up like a ball. It's perfectly ballable!

Is it still a naan if it's been scrunched into a ball?

Ahhh, I'd have gone for the smaller Aldi nan

@sportingminute Bake at home baguette completely invalidates this. It’s got little to no air in it and is essentially a load of dough!

Now this is the field research we need in this country

I do worry (not in the lose sleeps sense of course) that throwing methodology had a negative effect on the naan. It’s should be done with a windup, like an Olympic discus throw

curious if stale or toasted naan might hold up better, but this seems pretty decisive if it's helpful, americans have developed some good techniques for throwing lumpy oblong bread shaped objects. could you spiral a baguette with a little practice?

I had a bigger baguette in my mind 🥖

Doesn't look like you changed ends at half time, invalid match

Waste of food ... go to a pond and toss it out over the water so fowl and fishes can consume the tossed bread.

The seagulls were all over it by the time I was walking away

Excellent.

Some people have never seen a pizza lobbed at someone in a kebab shop, don't know thin discs of bread don't get much air, smh. They'd never survive in the wild

What about a frozen naan

Fantastic work, a true man of science.

Difference between science and fucking around is writing the results down

fuckin hell man. can i eat the leftover naan

insane choice for the naan. gotta get a nice firm naan without ghee on top, so it holds the frisbee shape better

Thank you lad, for engaging in the scientific method.

Thank you for your service

Nice demonstration of torsional forces destroying the naan. Now bake them both in the oven until they harden, and test again. The frisbee, sorry-naan, distance is going to be more skill dependent - so make many attempts of each and plot the distribution. I expect the naan will have greater variability but a higher maximum. This is important work, thank you for your time.

Not enough appreciation on how the guy managed to launch a fucking baguette half the length of a football pitch

This is real science! Someone get this dude a grant!

i love the subtle wiggle of the baguette legendary stuff here @_imey

This is the kind of investigative journalism I stay on Tik Tok for
