Day 145, orbit 2248 — Woohoo! 🎉 So happy I got to carry out the checkout and activation of our brand‑new European exercise equipment: the European Enhanced Exploration Exercise Device, or E4D. I know how much effort – and sweat! – the teams have put into the development and ground-testing of this device, and I’m happy to do my part from orbit now! 😅 I love exercising; it’s always been an extremely important part of my daily routine, and it is exciting to add some variety 🚣 to the on-orbit workouts! The E4D is a technology demonstrator: we’ll evaluate its design, operational aspects, and also effectiveness in counteracting the physical deconditioning experienced by astronauts in space. Once we’ve put it through its paces, future versions could find their way on board spacecrafts where the available space (inside 😉) will be even more limited than on the International Space Station. 👏 Congratulations to all the teams who made this possible! You asked for it, and you got it! Behold the making of a space cake, РОСКОСМОС cosmonaut style! Our crewmate Andrey Fedyaev made this video capturing the process, using sweetened condensed milk, layers of intricately sliced honey bread and yogurt (РОСКОСМОС food supplies) and rehydrated berries (NASA food supplies). Our crewmates are such “space kitchen” masters, that I’ve eaten far more cake on the International Space Station than I do on Earth! Each homemade cake is unique, of course (another beloved ingredient is pine nuts!). This one happened to be for my birthday last week. Thank you to all of the Expedition 74 crew for making it such a special event! 🎂🎉

Chris Bosh speaks on changing his game from his Raptors days, to Miami: “I definitely was more of a paint first player, but then getting to Miami and having to change my game, I needed to space the floor so LeBron and Dwyane who really to me were our 4 and our 5. I had to be the 2 and had to be out and work on my game differently. Sometimes I’d be able to sprinkle in some post ups throughout the course of the game. But mainly I can still hear Erik Spoelstra in my head ‘SNAP CHASE’. I have been in space for 50+ days now. It has been an amazing experience so far. I have so many highlights. One of the highlights was getting a video of the eclipse. It was eerily beautiful, and what an opportunity to see it from the International Space Station!

Farewell to International Space Station! This is truly a special place, special mission, and special team that makes it happen. It is a bittersweet departure today – I have a keen awareness that I may never be back here, and even if I was, it would be at a different time with a different crew. This chapter is over. Spaceflight has always been a life goal, and it has turned into a life-fulfilling endeavor – but not for the reasons I thought growing up. When I was young, I pictured the launch, the incredible ball of fire and the acceleration, the spacewalks (how could you not wonder what it’s like to be in that suit?), and I was fascinated by the shuttles, capsules, and stations. But as I complete this second mission living and working in space, what draws me to this job is the people. Experiences like this are amazing, but the relationships we build that make it possible are the “why.” Every day, this mission depends on people from all over the world, of different nationalities, races, religions, and cultures. It depends on government and commercial entities, it depends on all political parties, and it depends on commitment to an unchanged goal over many years and decades. It depends on people dedicated to being part of something bigger than themselves, whose names may never be known but who wake up every day to make the world a better place and to be part of something they will be proud to tell their grandkids about. History will look kindly upon them. Humans have always had a propensity to explore … across lands and oceans, up mountains, and into the sky. We as a species will never stop wondering what else is out there, and what it would be like to go. But then, in the words of TS Elliot, “…at the end of all our exploring, will be to arrive where we started, and know the place for the first time.” Crew-10 is on its way home.

When Bono gives you a shout out! 🙏🏽🥰👩🏾‍🚀🚀🌎 U2 has been my favorite band for 35 years!! I first saw them perform Joshua Tree in Rochester, NY on October 11, 1987 when I was 17 years old. Then in 2021, when they told me I had three phone calls from space, I asked if I could talk with Bono and my good friends Kyle Subtractive, Ryan Stuit, and Brantley (who was U2’s photographer) made it happen. I talked to Bono for 20 minutes (see instagram reels) while orbiting the Earth at 17,000 miles per hour. Definitely one of my favorite space moments! 🥰 And now I got to see them perform at the Sphere Vegas and it was mind blowing!! Then combine that with a shout out by Bono as the band plays Beautiful Day!! 🤯 I feel so fortunate to be part of the Inspiration4 crew and to be able to share my Space2inspire story and #EarthLight with so many. Elon Musk on how he initially got into space: “I didn't understand why NASA had nothing about people going to Mars.” “The space stuff actually came from a conversation Adeo [Ressi] and I had. Adeo asked me, what am I doing after PayPal? I said I thought maybe there'd be something philanthropic that could be done in space that would get the public more excited about space travel, in particular sending people to Mars. I said, I'm sure NASA's got that covered. So, I'll go look on the NASA website for when are we going to Mars? Because, of course, it should be on the website: We're going to Mars in this year, and this is how we're going to do it. But there was nothing. Nothing at all about people going to Mars. I was like, I just don't understand why there's nothing about people going to Mars. From 250 miles above us in low Earth orbit, the International Space Station has been a home and laboratory for over 25 years. With the Orion spacecraft now taking humans farther than we’ve ever gone before, the Expedition 74 crew aboard the space station offered a symbolic token to the NASA Artemis II crew and Commander Reid Wiseman as we continue to reach higher and dream bigger in human spaceflight.

#SEONGHWA talked about filming challenges with junior idols because he knows that feeling so well and wants to help them in any way he can 😭 ⭐️: these days things are going so well, so I feel good. A lot of people recognize and congratulate me a lot, and... I feel really thankful. I also, in my own way, try to find what I can do and do it. That’s my mindset. So I wondered what I could do, and I just filmed challenges diligently, contacted people here and there and filmed. Even when I felt tired I wanted to help somehow, so I worked hard (like that), I wonder if it helped? If it did even a little, then that’s enough for me. And now, usually… I also had times like that, when I really wanted to film a challenge with a senior I admired. I would do my hair and makeup on my day off, go to the broadcast station and even bring a gift. That one moment would stay as such a good memory for me, and the senior would say a lot of good things to me that it would become a good connection. I thought, “someday, if I can, I want to do that too.” I don’t know if I can help in a big way yet (with popularity), but if it’s something good for those juniors I’ll do everything I can. I know that feeling so well and it's such a precious one, so how could I refuse that?You just have to do it, ofc. And if I’m can remember it I want to do their challenges too, but I’m really slow at learning choreography, even memorizing our own songs takes me a long time. But still, I want to do it sincerely. If I get the chance, I want to practice more and do better, but after doing so many (challenges) I do hit a bit of a limit. Hobi about Namjoon's live 🐿: Yesterday, Namjoon did a live. I saw it. I didn't post any comments and I just listened to what he said.
