100% agree . Props to all the MC’s making money off of it but to me all this hip hop turning 50 was lame to me . I didn’t watch any of this stuff .

GRAMMYs gonna GRAMMY. KRS has points of course, but the genre is also named "Hip Hop" - This was a celebration of popular rap music. Nothing more, nothing less. There are thousands of places "Hip Hop" is used blasphemously based on the 4 element tenets he mentions -- certainly worthy of calling out -- but I don't know how anyone could have expected any of that stuff from the GRAMMYs. The show could have done some things better, but for what it was, it was fine. KRS's opinion and decision to not be involved is his decision, and obviously should be respected, but it doesn't mean anything much more than that. He's the Teacha, but he doesn't speak for everyone. That being said, folks who don't like how Hip Hop is being represented out in the world can do something about it. Usually that just ends up being "complain on the internet" or "agree when some OG says all today's Hip Hop sucks." A) It doesn't. B) We can do so much more to support and uplift the music and culture we love, without needing to disparage anything or anybody. I'd love to see more of B. We can help if anyone doesn't know how.

I'm sorry, but Kris sounds like he's living in the past. I understand his perspective completely because I used to share that perspective. But the only constant in life is change, and hip-hop has evolved a ton over the last half-century.

Grammys are for music…. Ain’t never been no best graffiti category. It wasn’t a network special showcasing all of the elements. It was a music special with music artists performing songs. You didn’t do Yankee Stadium either. Yall just wanna be cranky. Ain’t no 51st concert.

I like him like everybody else, but I have also thought that he put himself above everybody else. He made some good points but, there may be some people just dont like his (never admitting about Bambata's ) style.
