It is absolutely appalling that #Meta blocks vital and life-saving information & News on its platforms while residents in #Yellowknife & #Okanagan are fleeing for their lives amid extreme wild fires in the western part of the country.

What’s worse, #Meta is allowing misinformation about the fires to circulate on their platforms which is creating further confusion for families seeking safety. This is completely unacceptable.

#NDP calls on the federal government to use all the tools available to stop #Meta from blocking vital information about fires raging in these communities- this is a matter of life or death.

What’s appalling is your political misinformation campaign. If you want to post vital life-saving information on Facebook you can do that. If you want news you can get it directly from news makers’ websites and mobile apps. Leveraging a crisis to disparage Meta is shameful.
