I think she’d find the roots are somewhat motivated by their stated aim to kill all the Jews. We pretend that’s not a factor, but it helps nobody to do so.

It is clear that Israel's ongoing actions in Gaza constitute a genocide. When governments avoid the term genocide, it is not because facts on the ground are unclear. It is because the implications are inconvenient. We must call it what it is and do all we can to stop it.

Netanyahu walked into Gaza and bragged:“We control the area. We are not retreating. We control 60% of the Strip, and we are not stopping.” That is not a ceasefire. That is occupation. Two million people squeezed into the rubble. Land taken. Withdrawal refused. Gaza is not his to keep. End the occupation. Free Palestine.

“It is difficult to convey what it means to speak here on behalf of the people of Palestine as they endure genocide. This is one of the most documented crimes in modern history. Live-streamed for all to see. Recorded by those suffering, in the hope that the world watching would act — and even recorded by those committing the crimes, confident they will never be held to account. Which one of them will we prove right? The victims or the perpetrators? Peoples around the world mobilized against this genocide. Human rights organizations, UN experts, and many states recognized this genocide. And we are gathered here to speak of the prevention and punishment of that very crime. But where were the measures to prevent genocide in Palestine? Where are the measures to punish it?” State of Palestine statement at the 10th Anniversary of the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime.

It is a disgrace that our justice system is given as an example of the worst in the world. We can do better #Zimbabwe.

Yesterday we came out in our thousands in Birmingham to demand the end of all sporting ties with Israel, a state that has committed genocide in the Gaza Strip & enforces a system of apartheid and illegal military occupation of Palestinian territory. Israeli sports cannot be allowed to sanitise these crimes.
