He still can't get from his car under that pathway without stepping over plants!

Easy fix — just add a stepping stone or two between the plants. Looks way better than plain concrete!

Agreed but it should have put a stone on the right in between his car and the path he created.

Good point! Planning to drop one more stone on the right so you can step straight from the car. Appreciate the feedback ☺️

I knew there was no way this guy had a wife lol

Lol internet detectives never miss 🤦♂️😂

These projects usually look good the moment they are done. The real test is a year+ later.

True! This one was built tough with proper base and drainage though. We'll see how it holds up after the first real summer storm and winter. Fingers crossed! 🌱

And now when you get out of the car, you’ll have to dance over plants or light fixtures to get to the walkway.

The problem you were trying to solve where you would walk over grass to get to your front door, now you have to walk over gravel, plants, and lights.

Foolish to put sand over the granite. Sand just quickly erodes everything. Smarter move would have been limestone over the crushed granite. Then you spray it all with the hose and it will hold it all together like a natural concrete

Interesting point! Limestone would definitely lock things together better, but I guess it depends on whether they wanted a firmer surface or better drainage.

That’s the great thing about the crushed granite + limestone combo, it’s fantastic for both! - it’s a Texas staple

It would take you a week to dig a depth of 4inch and 25feet in length? You must be super lazy lmao

Haha, skid steer + dumpster for a 4-inch dig? Bro made Saturday a full movie production 😂Respect the paver game tho!

😂😂

You did all this to NOT extend your driveway??

Pretty sure those plants are going to die.

It’s nice to see someone actually do this type of project correctly

Why not park your cars in the garage and walk in to the house.

That's what garages were made for, but somehow they always end up becoming storage rooms 😅

I know. I get some parts of the country don’t have basements. But build storage in your garage and get creative so your cars, the most valuable things you own beyond the house, can be protected from the elements and vandalism/thieves.

Ha ha if I did that by hand, it would’ve taken me a day and I would have the concrete poured as well😘

Haha same! I'd still be swinging a sledgehammer at hour 6, covered in sweat, deciding “screw it, fresh concrete it is” 😂 That skid steer is pure cheat code.

Dude could have hired a concrete pump and a concrete finisher and done the prep himself and spent the same amount of money and actually solved his problem, which he did not.

I hate the gravel, you should have let the pavers be in grass

I can see that! Grass definitely has its own charm

It’s amazing to see gay dudes do manly shit

Did he just plant plants into a layer of sand and gravel??

Not sure why Elon wanted me to watch this but you did a good job

These videos crack me up. He did all that work and created a maintenance nightmare. Concrete is the only maintenance free solution.

Is there an issue walking in grass? Lol

Not compacted properly,

Nigga planted his plants in 0 soil

Looks horrible

Did he really fill the dumpster with dirt? 😂

You know you did an awesome job, but I thought you said you were tired of getting out of your car standing on your grass now you’re just standing on the gravel

Love seeing someone go at it unafraid to make mistakes and learn. Only critique is not arranging to sell dirt removed as clean fill.

lol not a single utility marker in sight.

Geez he overloaded that dumpster. I bet he had over 10 ton in there. Dirt is heavy.

All that work and still don't have a clear path from the driveway to the front door. It looks nice at least for other people to use, I guess? Lol

I’m impressed how compacted the container was lol

Hauling off that dumpster gone be $$$!

Dumping the dirt in the dumpster is a flex, I'd be running that around to the backyard to level or landscape with. I bought it with the house, why throw it away?

Poor design, no access from the driveway to the front door

I've been wanting to do this, but with a 60' run >.<

... so now when he exits his vehicle, he has to walk to the street or walk over the shrubs / lights. why does the pathway go all the way down to the sidewalk?

Omg walk in the grass!?!? Heavens no
