So it's your opinion that if you were floating in space in a bombproof suit, with a bomb on your back, you would remain stationary when the bomb explodes?

Dude that's not what is happening, thrust is picking up and eventually overcomes the weight of the syringe

The sad part of this post is the utter failure of our educational system. We, as citizens, pay a lot of money to educate our youth. Yet, somehow, people like this make it through the system. I'll assume he took and passed a high school science course. Yet, he enters society with no understanding of Newton's Laws or how a rocket engine works. All of society should be disappointed with posts like this.

Rockets carry their own reaction mass. They absolutely do work in vacuum. This video was made by idiots for idiots.

It's so fucking weird that we have such a big difference in intelligence between people. We have people like Albert Einstein.. And we have people like this, thinking the earth is flat and every astronomer and scientist in the world are in on some big conspiracy theory xD

It’s called conservation of momentum folks 🙄 if you are sitting on a chair with wheels in the middle of a room and throw a heavy ball away from yourself you will move.

Do people make money by being stupid? Rockets use inertia to move. It’s the mass of the gases pushing out the back that propels the rocket. Common, do better

No, it isn't For every action there is a equal and opposite reaction Elementary school physics You failed

Most retard thing i have ever seen Math/physics grad here. It is about mass being ejected from the ship, not the explosions needing something to push off of Its the same thing as standing on ice with zero friction and throwing a ball. The ball pushes you back, not the ground..

That's fucking stupid. If I shot you with a bullet in a vacuum would it hurt? Think about it

Lmfao, Newton 3rd law! For every reaction there’s an equal and opposite reaction! F/ck this guy st/pid

Do some research on what inertia is.

If we put you in a vacuum, how long before you realise you're a dumb ass?

Huh. Let's see, why does the exhaust gas move backward from a rocket? I guess in your model it would be because the gas pushes against the rocket. I guess in a bizarre way your claim there has to be something to push against is true. Exhaust gas pushes against the rocket so the gas goes back. The rocket goes forward because the gas pushed against it. A truly wacky way to look at it, but whatever works for you. Rockets work fine in a vacuum.

Bro what... The gass from the rocket is what you're pushing off of. F=ma. Gas weighs little so if you want a lot of force it has to go fast. Yes if there is something else there, a wall, the gas gets stuck, buokds up more pressure and creates more force. Other experiments to prove this. Stand on a skateboard on a flat surface. Blow with your mouth. You won't move. Blow against a wall, you will likely still not move. Toss a bowling ball slowly. You will move. Throw a bowling ball quickly. You will move more. Yes, moving something requires pushing against something but when you push away from something you are separating from it. It can be something heavy or it can be gas. If it's gas, you either need a lot of it or you need to bush it very hard and fast.

Rockets don’t push against air; they push against their own exhaust. Imagine standing on a skateboard and throwing a heavy ball forward—you roll backward. A rocket just throws gas molecules out the back. Basic physics! 🚀

It’s a flaw in experiment design. The rocket is moving, but it is too slight. The conservation of momentum is what does the work - the momentum of the escaping gas is equal and opposite to the syringe, so their mass-velocity product is equal and opposite.

So if you fired a gun in a vacuum, there would be no recoil?

This makes sense, if you shoot the plasma toward the sun, as long as it’s pushing off a distant body, you will get push

Mhhhh. You are on to something. Quick tell the rocket engineers, they might say thank you and send you home with a box of crayons and a coloring book. Seriously, you are a fucking idiot !

Incorrect. Ionised propulsion works in a vacuum. I don’t know what you keep under that broccoli haircut but it sure as fuck isn’t brains.

Rockets are tested in a vacuum chamber and work just fine. If a rocket is launched in an atmosphere the thrust of the exhaust gases is reduced by the back pressure of the atmosphere on the exhaust gases. So an atmosphere makes the rocket less efficient, not more.

If you believe in Newton’s 3rd law of motion, (which you cite directly). If a body were to exert force on a propellant (and vice versa) in a vacuum… what should happen? Nothing?

first off, how were the able to create a vacuum with the syringe in it open ended without it sucking out the air within it....?

You over notice how a rocket doesn't just shoot right off? It needs to build that energy for a moment first. We have fuckin ICBMs. They leave earths atmosphere and are perfectly capable of moving.
