My guess is that for centuries Hindus never felt insecure about the internal conflicts or feel threatened that some outsiders will challenge their very existence, thoughts and beliefs. So they could happily co-exist while being critical of each other. What many of us are still ignorant about is that the context has changed now..

In case of Bengal, Bageshwarji called them Pakhandis - obviously deserved a retort. Then the CPM/TMC handles started weaponising this (obviously to create a divide among Hindus) ... and that made things chaotic. There is a very deep misconception about Bengal among the rest of India (Even in this video of yours). People measure Bengal by their yardsticks. Know that Bengal has no dowry for generations. If you ask a person's caste, he probably will not even know. Only South Indian states can match Bengal in the sheer variety of veg food ... and there are many hardcore veg Bengalis too. But never does one preach vegetarianism as vehemently as the Gujjus and North Indians do. They make it into another religion and force others and create unnecessary rules. Hindus must understand that demography is destiny. Invaders like the Mughals and Christians killed nine crore Hindus - if demography hadn't changed, they wouldn't have died. Even today from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Hindus are being forced to leave their homes.
