I read a beautiful farewell message from a Kenyan High school teacher (Physics & Mathematics) to his colleagues, friends, students, and community. I also watched a short clip on the... same! So moving, it reminded me how Teaching is, easily, the most importantly IMPACTFUL profession for national development. Indeed, the difference between the so-called First World and the rest is not how high buildings rose to the skies but how much of deliberate investments went into Education and Healthcare. Let me drop both items - farewell message and the clip - here! "Askum (Asalam Aleikum). As I prepare to bid farewell after 17 incredible years at Sheikh Ali High School, my heart overflows with gratitude and love for each of you. I feel both sad and happy as I write this. Sad, because I am leaving after an incredible 17 years filled with unforgettable memories and wonderful friendships. Happy, because I am joining my family and starting a new chapter in my life. Thank you all for the beautiful memories and the unwavering support. I will cherish the times we've spent together and carry them with me always. To my dedicated staff mates, your camaraderie, support, and understanding have made every day a joy. Working alongside such talented and committed individuals has been a privilege that I will always cherish. To the support staff, your tireless efforts behind the scenes have been crucial to our success. Your dedication and hard work have often gone unnoticed, but I want you to know that they have always been deeply appreciated. After a lot of consideration of all my options I am thrilled to announce I am committed to Stetson University!!! Since I was a little girl I’ve always dreamed of playing D1 basketball. It has been a challenging journey filled with many ups and downs. But I never lost sight of that dream. As I reflect on my commitment, I cannot help but think of the people that helped me reach this point. To my coaches, thank you for your guidance and mentorship. You pushed me to become a better player and leader. To my teammates, your the backbone of my success. We’ve created memories and lessons that we will carry with us forever. Today, I am 30 and saying goodbye to my twenties. As I celebrate this milestone, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey I've experienced during my twenties. The past decade was a period of profound growth, self-discovery, and transformative experiences that shaped me into who I am today. My twenties were filled with many highs and some lows, but through it all, I was resilient and persistent. I faced challenges head-on and learned important lessons along the way that shaped my perspective and enlightened my understanding of life. One of the most significant aspects of my twenties was the journey of taking back my own happiness and self-discovery. I uncovered my passions, strengths, and true purpose. This journey allowed me to embrace my authentic self and my dreams. I learned to respect myself, my time, and my energy more. I realized the importance of setting healthy boundaries, prioritizing self-care, and surrounding myself with positive individuals in my life. By honoring my needs and valuing my well-being, I have created a solid foundation for personal growth and fulfillment. Part of the process involved removing negative energy and people from my life. I recognized those who didn't genuinely want the best for me. Letting go of toxic relationships allowed me to create the space I wanted for positivity, growth, and healthier connections. Another pivotal moment during my twenties was a career change. Recognizing my desire for alignment between my passion and my profession, I bravely pursued a new path. It was not easy—that decision required courage, determination, and betting on myself. I started small before reaching greater heights, and I embraced that challenge. Eventually, it led me to a career that brings me immense fulfillment and joy. My willingness to embrace change and take calculated risks has set me on a path of not only continued success but also my own goals and personal satisfaction. Amidst all of the experiences, the most precious gifts of my twenties were the arrival of my two beautiful boys. Parenthood has brought immeasurable joy, love, and purpose into my life. A lifelong learner and a student of many passions yesterday I received my 2ND advanced degree - a Doctorate in Health Policy from George Washington University School of Nursing. I am grateful to Allahu SWA for the life opportunities I’ve enjoyed along with purposeful and needed challenges along the way. To many on this app, I am known for my no BS politics, and to my patients it’s Dr. ALI. My passion has been providing exceptional care for my patients and communities for nearly two decades. I came back to Somalia in 2016/17 to focus on primary healthcare BUT because the system doesn’t allow for expertise and progress, I opened my OWN practice in Mog and unfortunately for security challenges I had to close it. My journey continues both in and out of Somalia and Inshallah I will have the opportunity to use my training and expertise in primary care/health policy to improving health outcomes for my people. With our season being over my contract with Team Vitality 🐝 has ended It has been a rocky journey and through each challenge it has been a test of who we are and what we’re made of. I can personally say that the work ethic of the team cannot be put to question and everyone was willing to go over and above to get us to where we wanted to be. It can feel like all the work had no reward, but I truly believe that the work is an investment for a lifetime and not just a season. To the fans, we know it is disappointing and we really dreamed of that fairy tale story in Paris. For now the players, coaches and staff appreciate the support that has been given and even I could feel the warmth of the well wishes and welcomes I received when I joined the org. Happy New Year’s Eve 🥂🎉 Grateful for you who has supported me over the last year and you who still believes in me. Your support means more than I can put into words, but a simple thank you can go a long way … THANK YOU! ❤️ I see you, even if I don’t always have the time to respond to your wonderful comments on my posts. You’re amazing! ❤️ Wishing you a year of health, wealth and the kind of happiness that truly matters. Happy New Year 2024 🤗🥰😘💋 2023 has been a troubled year for me, but also one with positive changes and lessons learned. I know most of you don’t care about my troubles, so I won’t bore you with that. Living in the past is not the solution anyway, so I prefer to focus on the present and future. I don’t expect 2024 to take away all my troubles at midnight today. But I’m going into 2024 with hope, confidence and determination. If I go down, at least I will have tried my best. 2024 will be a year with lots of changes, setting boundaries, focus and finding my true self. Some of you will not like those changes, mostly the ones that are not even reading this, but I know I will be left with the people that like me for who I am. 2024 will be great! 👍 Do you have new year resolutions?

What a way to end the season! Would like to thank all the players for making my time at argyle a memory I will also treasure…… also massive shout out to all the staff for their amazing support, myself and family are very grateful. To the fans thank you for showing me amazing support and given me a huge amount of backing, I have grown and learnt as a player the past 5 months and argyle have a massive part of that. Really grateful to have been able to be apart of this team and I wish you all the best for the future 💚💚💚
