It is utterly horrific that individuals who commit the most heinous crimes are able to walk our streets in anticipation of their trial. Granting bail to these monsters is evidently an issue, it provides them the ability to avoid the full force of the law by absconding whilst they...

So, @MorganWsi15434 I just wanted you to confirm (or explain), it appears that the UK government and the Justice Secretary are potentially in breach of the following treaties set up by the ECHR and UN Convention: Article 5 (Right to liberty and security) - ECHR Article 8 (Right to respect for private and family life) - ECHR Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) - UN Conventions Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) - UN Conventions. Allowing violent, sexual predators into the public domain "on bail", potentially around their victims is disgraceful! There needs to be a way we can tackle and push back on this, surely.

Bail should be for petty crimes only. Serious offences, such as sexual assault, rape, ABH or GBH for example, should not allow the option for bail.

Bail should not be granted to ANYONE who has committed sexual offences.

Completely agree, and it speaks volumes about how the criminal justice system now seems to view sexual offences in general. When you couple it with the low charge rate for CSA convictions in 2023/4 (12%), the prosecution rate (just under 9%) and the conviction rate (just over 7%)- all of which were the highest in 6 years - the picture looks even grimmer. As for adult rape - in 2023/24 the charge rate was only 2.6%. So the granting of bail to the very few that do get prosecuted I think simply reflects a wider dismissiveness and minimisation of these types of crimes.

Agreed. It is utterly deplorable that this is even a conversation.

Anyone on sexually related charges should be held on remand pending trial. If found guilty they should then hang outside the courts, no exceptions.

These people need locking up until it goes to trial. It keep them off them streets and it's one more paedo walking their very community. It (in the case of foreigners) can also give them a chance to abscond, probably back to their country of origin. Good for us but what's stopping them coming back in a few years and doing it all again. These monsters don't need bailing they need locking up, up until their trial.

We want traitors to know is that there is no safe haven. We will give you no sanctuary. In the month of July, the FBI executed almost 30 foreign transfers of custody in over 15 separate countries for drug traffickers, terrorists, murderers, and rapists. So what I’m here to tell you today, for all these individuals that are on the run right now, you will not be on the run for long. We will hunt you down in every corner of the planet, and we will return you here to face American justice. The numbers that we at the FBI and our partners are returning to America to face justice from overseas is a record-breaking number. It is a direct result of President Trump’s relationships with foreign governments that allow us to work in spaces we were never permitted to work before. And that is why we are delivering these historic results, returning these individuals to America for justice. And most importantly, once they are in our justice system, we have seized these funds, and we are going to get them back to the senior citizens that were fleeced of their life savings and their retirements. That is the mission of law enforcement. That is the collective mission of the interagency partnerships you see here today. I’m thankful to be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with these agencies, our prosecutors, the Department of Justice, and this White House, laser focused and of primary importance on protecting our most vulnerable, our kids, and our elderly. And you’re seeing that done here today. And this FBI, along with our interagency partners, will not rest. If anyone in the world has information on these perpetrators, 1-800-CALL-FBI.
