Plenty. He was wrong about this, just like he was wrong about his economic theories.

There Is a New Sheriff in Town: Proactive Libertarian Structure Milton Friedman warned that passing laws is easy and repealing them is nearly impossible. Government grows because every program receives a beginning, but few receive an ending. Talking about limited government will not reverse that. Talk is cheap. Structure walks. Proactive Libertarian Structure means building liberty directly into law. Instead of trusting future politicians to restrain government, the law restrains government automatically. Authority and Expiration Control requires every government program to declare its purpose, constitutional authority, cost, performance standard, and expiration date before it begins. No successful reauthorization vote means the program ends. Silence means expiration. Property Rights and Pooling Control establishes taxpayers as owners and government as steward. Taxpayer ownership remains traceable until the authorized obligation is faithfully performed. Collection is not performance. Appropriation is not performance. Spending is not performance. Signal and Non-Interference Control sends unfiltered results directly to citizens. Officials cannot bury failure in reports, change measurements halfway through a cycle, or average failed nodes into successful ones. Transparency and Public Ledger Control places every node on a searchable public ledger showing its authority, owner, cost, status, performance, and expiration countdown. A constitutional digital twin on every taxpayer citizen’s phone would turn that ledger into real-time taxpayer telemetry. Exit and Enforcement Controls finish the structure. Failed authority terminates. Unlawful action becomes void. Recoverable money returns to taxpayer sinking funds. No new bonds transfer today’s spending to future taxpayers. This is how liberty moves beyond speeches, quotations, and campaign promises. Stop merely describing the ideal structure of liberty. Write its limits, measurements, exit points, and remedies into law. Then make those controls execute automatically. The new sheriff is not another politician. It is enforceable structure. That is the Runtime Republic. That is taxpayer supremacy.

I am again going to note that energy law proves this best: each new rule becomes permanent lawfare, and we pay for the delay on the electricity bill.
