It looks like Microsoft has blocked the bypass that allowed you to create a local account during Windows 11 setup by typing in a blocked email address. Now it just loops you back to typing in a different account :(

Just don't connect to the internet when setting up. It's forced to create a local account then.

That's a shame. But if you're using Pro (or ENT/EDU) you always have the choice of selecting the "Set up for work or school" option, then choosing the Domain Join option. This ALWAYS creates a offline local admin for you, and can't really be changed by Microsoft (by design).

What about if the computer is not connected to the Internet/network? Does it just never get past this screen?

Yeah you can't proceed through setup without an internet connection by default.

I have no interest in using Windows without the account. People are being weird for no good reason. Both android and iOS require one, plus it brings a ton of value by using an account.

Shift + F10 “oobe\BypassNRO” without quotes Reboot. “I don’t have an internet connection” will be available at network setup.

Installed LTSC IoT and faced none of these issues. Never moving back to consumer Windows 11.

Yet another example that people are fooling themselves thinking Recall will be always something than can be disabled.

I can’t believe some people see still using Windows these days. Very old school, Linux lets you install OS without having email.

Why? Just why, Microsoft? What's wrong with using a local account? Thankfully, oobe is still working for now. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

This is a huge L, IMO. This is unnecessary & should be left to end user. I hope Linux eats up some of Windows marketshare to bring them back to senses.

So what happens if we're offline? Is it impossible to install it offline at all now? What if Microsoft's servers are out?

Aside from oobe/bypassnro, just use (auto)unattend.xml and set the option to use local accounts / no online accounts

I don't like where Microsoft is going with this. It's *my* PC. Why am I being forced to use an account? For Android and iOs it's the same of course but I think of Windows as a whole different category.

How else will Microsoft be able to spam your inbox, show ads, upsell their products, etc. Microsoft is trying really hard to force people to jump ships. Once the enterprises have had enough and decides to move away from Windows then it's game over for Microsoft.
